For the last year Ive been eating about a meal a day. I have had a self image problem for a while. But with the help of my boyfriend I am slowly overcoming it. Ive admitted to my eating disorder, but I have never once forced my food to come out. But the story goes on, and I realized I was getting sick about 5 weeks ago, I started vomiting after eating uncontrollably. I started vomiting every other day after a meal. Now for the last 3 weeks, after every meal I have (3 times a day), I immediatley vomit right after I eat (15-45mins after). I have never vomited prior to the last 5 weeks when it all started. It seemed unusual that it all started all of a sudden. My doctor says Im not use to having food in my stomach, but for the last 4 weeks Ive been eating 3 times a day and I really want to get healthy again. I just had dinner with a few friends, and while eating my dinner at the restaurant, the food came up uncontrollably. Ive taken gravol to stop the vomiting but it wont help. When I got home, I drank a full glass of water, and 5 minutes later I vomitted out the water and my dinner in the span of 30 mins (vomiting 7 times). I dont know what to do anymore, my throat is killing me and my doctor told me to wait and do a mouth enema (my appointment is 28 days from now). Have you guys ever heard of controllable vomiting after you eat????? I dont know what to do, I cant wait another 28 days of uncontrollable vomiting until they can do testing on my stomach!!! Someone please help!!!!!!!! I also have a sour feeling in my stomach all the time, and once I vomit it seems liek the sourness goes away.

  • Your body is way out of balance. You are malnourished, and probably dehydrated. This could be causing your vomiting, or you could have some other issues it's hard to say. Please try and get some fresh ginger at the grocery store, and ginger ale as well. Try slicing several slices of fresh ginger into the ginger ale and take some sips throughout the day, especially while eating. Fresh ginger is excellent for nausea and vomiting. Eat small simple meals, 4-5x per day if you can. If you can, go to an acupuncturist and this will help get you back in balance. Go to www.acufinder.com to find one near you - just type in your zip code.Doctor of Oriental Medicine

  • I agree with your doctor that your stomach is not used to having food in it. What you need to do is start small. You can not go from eating hardly nothing for a long time, to eating three meals a day. Your body is forcing you to get rid of the "extra" food. Slowly start back on solid foods. Eating three times a day is great but you have to get there slowly. Also try some Ensure drinks (not after you eat but alone.) They are good for calories. I hope you start to feel better soon. It is a great decision you made to be healthy.
