Hello!
I have been searching endlessly for someone that may have had an experience similar to mine.
My 6 year old son has been dx with high blood pressure and is now on 2 medications to control it. He has gone through a battery of tests and still they can't figure out why-- they tell me that there is a cause- they just can't find it....
His work up has included: ultrasound & ct of abd--cardiac echo& EKG-24 hr urine and lab work and renal arteriogram -- only found to have an extremely high renin level....he is otherwise a very healthy, very active 6 yr old (not obese--not sedentary at all)

If anyone has had similar experiences I would love to hear from you-- he is so little to have this problem be uncorrectable and with him for his entire lifetime.

Thank you in advance for any input!

  • How is his intake of leafy greens, vegetables and fruits? I am also wondering how is his breathing capacity. Do you have good air quality where you live? And one more thing, how is his water intake? It could be a sign that eh does not drink enough water. It sounds like he has some unbalance which manifests like that. I guess my emphasis will be on the vegetables- feed him enough, even if that means to replace some of the beloved grains and starchy food with it.Take Care- don't stop searching for answers. You may want to consult with a Doctor of Holistic MedicineBest.

  • you mentioned a high renin level... has your doctor said anything about his adrenal glands? usually high renin levels are caused by excess aldosterone secretion from the adrenal glands. anyhow, here's a link to some info and some tests that can be done to find out what is going on. http://www.lifesteps.com/gm/Atoz/ency/plasma_renin_activity.jsp

Thank you again!High blood pressure is a sign that there is an unbalance in his Heart Chakra- perhaps not enough energy flows there. The Heart Chakra is in charge of some organs and systems like the Lymphs, the lungs, and the immune system. Green vegetables are its food. Make that fair amount a big amount. Make his leafy greens a big bowl of fun. Try to give him a good amount of raw food- maybe 60% of what he eats.Make sure you don't have any mold at home, that is very toxic. Please read on NAET, at NAET.com- he might be reacting to something in his environment, or chemicals in his food.Avoiding processed food is ideal. He might be experiencing a reaction to common household cleaners, synthetic bedding, new furniture, new carpet, fresh painted surfaces, glue, etc.A NAET testing session is painless and might safe you lost of pain and future health complications.Best.

I did actually mention to them about possibly looking at sleep apnea as a dx when he was in the hospital for his arteriogram- and they told me he didn't present like sleep apnea--that he wasn't snoring loud enough---I am not certain I buy that-b/c he does snore-just not loud like an adult--perhaps I will investigate it a little more-You mentioned other disorders- did you have any others in specifically in mind?
