My daughter was born May 5th 2006 by C-Section because I was too small to deliver...all went okay. I had a normal pregnancy except for back pain, which I had to go to physical therapy for. About half way through my pregnancy I started to feel dizzy and spacey all the time. I thought it was normal because I was pregnant, and the doctors told me the same. I thought I had a problem with my eyesight. After she was born, it got so much worse, I was so out of it that I couldn't even drive and I was getting jumping vision. Once in awhile throughout the day my vision will get hazy or watery in a little part of my vision when I look at a certain object and then will go away. I also, have pressure in my head and around my sinuses. About a month ago I developed a dizziness sensation that makes me feel as though I am rocking back and forth, even when laying down. Have gone to Neurologist, ENT, had eyes tested 4 times, 2 MRI's, 3 CT Scans, all show normal. All blood tests show normal, everything "Normal" I don't know what is wrong with me, I have a 10 month old that I am trying to take care of and it is stressing me out so bad. I cry myself to sleep sometimes, I feel like Im being punished. Someone please help, and give me an idea of what this could be!!!!!!!!!! I just want to live my life.

  • It sounds like you need to calm down. REST REST RESTI went through this while I was pregnant. I know you are not pregnant but it can take 12 to 16 months for your body to return to normal. If you are in a state of worry that can cause your body to freak out. When those things happen to you try to lay down. Get some help with your baby. Take care of yourself. Are you eating? Have you noticed any kind of trend. It is possible it is you blood sugar getting low. ARe you nursing? Have you been losing your baby weight? Did you get a tox screen?Take all of those things into consideration.Take care of yourself and you baby.

  • Yes I am eating. I do have help with taking care of my baby but sometimes Im left alone with her all day for like 10 hours and I just get worried that something will happen to me and she might be left on her own. These are the kind of things that just freak me out. I have had my sugar tested and all other kinds of blood work that always come back normal. Yet I still always feel as though my body is dizzy and swaying back and forth, even when I am calm. I rest a lot. I always feel as though I have no energy. I think I might go see an allergist or someone who practices alternative medicine. I feel as though I have no other options. It will be 1 year that I have been feeling like this. And sometimes I feel as I am just getting worse.

  • Have you tried taking an allergy med like Benedryl or claritn? My severe allergies always make me feel spacey and dizzy. I don't think you are making this up, I have had similiar symptoms in the past (once it was seen on a CT that I had a chronic sinus infection). Just hang in there and try not to make it worse by being stressed out. When I started taking allegra after suffering with allergies for years, my quality of life changed completely. All my allergies came on after a pregnancy. Just a thought. Hope you get some answers soon. Betts

  • well i have been seeing an Ear Nose and Throat Doctor and he has not said anything about Meniere's Disease. I dont know how they diagnose that, but I have had my hearing checked and the pressure and all that and everything came back fine, so I am not sure.

  • Hi SBM,Trying to take care of a new baby is hard. Doing it when you are having such troubles, and no one can tell you why, must feel horrible. I hope someone figures something helpful out very soon. I have some thoughts, and I've written them below...First, if you are nursing, be very cautious about what you take, even over-the-counter stuff like Benadryl. If the ENT isn't helping, you might try an otolaryngologist and see if they get to the problem more directly. They are similar, but otolaryngologists often are more versed in vertigo problems. Here's a quick overview of Ménière's disease:Ménière's disease is usually characterized 4 symptoms.1) Periodic episodes of rotatory vertigo or dizziness.2) Fluctuating, progressive, low-frequency hearing loss3) Tinnitus4) A sensation of "fullness" or pressure in the ear.But don't let the fact that there isn't vision stuff up there make you say that couldn't be it. IF you have the stuff above, it is still worth looking at. I wish I had something more useful to offer, and I do hope you get feeling better.Best,Shula

  • Please do not listen to anything Shula or Acuann tell you. My sister just passed away because Shula and Acuann told her that her doctor was wrong and she did not have a serious condition. Acuann even told her to get acupuncture to get healed. These people are going to be investigated for practicing medicine without a license. Shula and Acuann are specifically wanted in connection with my sisters homocide. Thats right homocide. If she would have listened to her doctor instead of these internet quacks she would still be here today. Rest assured I will do everything in my power to put these two behind bars and shut this website down for good.

  • I am currently going through the exact thing. Mine started after going off Effexor for PPD after I had my son. He is now 3. It doesnt get better. I havent driven in over a year. The foggy and haziness get worse. I cant even go into a store because I have dizzy spells and Im afraid Ill just fall out. The doctors have diagnosed me with having migranes, vertigo, anxiety, and severe post nasal drainage......I thought those were symptoms not a diagnosis. I just had a girl 4 months ago. It got considereably worse. I dont buy the whole thing is anxiety. I have been going through cognitive behavior therapy and the anxiety has gotten considerably better. Therefore the symptoms should have lightened or gone away but they only get worse. Im sorry to make you think there is no hope, but I just havent found it yet. Im still looking. I research my symptoms and have came up with several options for the doctor to check. Meneries disease (Its a catch-all because there is no test to diagnose)deviated septum (80% of people have some degree of deviation)a form of TMJ (possible if have popping sound of jaw)MS (highly unlikely with a normal MRI or CAT) or there is always severe anxiety with agoraphobia and disrealization (supposedly the "constant" symptoms do not fit this since anxiety comes and goes.

  • It has gotten a little better for me. They have put me on Lexapro 15 mg per day. I do have really bad TMJ so that could be part of it. I wish it was something that could be completely fixed, but I know it can't and the doctors just think I am crazy. I do drive, I go to work and school. I try my best to ignore it. I also try to eat right and excercise. Not driving and not going to the store...all these things will just make it worse for you. Pretty soon you will be afraid of everything and this is not good for your kids either. Try to get as much help as possible. It's great that you are getting therapy.

  • Candy, No I did not find out what was wrong. My dentist gave me a really expensive mouthgaurd for the TMJ and I am seeing a vision therapist to help get my eyesight back in focus. I still have really bad sinus problems and they are worse in the cold weather when I am inside with the heat on. I got off the Lexapro, but think I may go back on it because I am getting some of the anxiety back. Get a second opinion on the whole Meniere's diagnosis though. I am scared to have another child, I am afraid it will get worse.

After her operation she was on bed for 2 days and she was fine. But when she tried to stand up from bed suddenly she had a blackout in her sight and she was not able to see anything. We took her to neuroligst and he gave her treatment for few days. She was able to see some what after 2 weeks but she has blurry vision. Now she is not able to see clearly. She had 2 CT scans and they are normal. Dr. told she had blood cloating in brain but now it is cleared. And Dr says she will improve after some days. But for last one week she is not having any improvement. Can somebody guide me?Thanks,Abhishek
