Toenails bending back

Last Sunday the toenail on my big toe bent back (you can see a line 1/2 way down the toenail bed where it bent back). There was some bleeding and discomfort but I had kind of stubbed my toe so I did not think anything further of it.

However, the same thing happened to my other toe today (Thurs) and I really did not bang it -- just sort of grazed it. Same thing resulted though. Toenail bent back 1/2 way down, bleeding under toenail.

Why are my toenails bending so easily all of a sudden? Vitamin deficiency??? The toenails themselves are not that long (and certainly no longer than usual).

  • I think I would go visit a podiatrist/chiropodist. Call your regular Dr.'s office and they could probably refer you. You don't want whatever you have to get into the nail beds.
