Toe pain for several years

I have had a very sharp stabbing pain (that comes and goes) in one toe for a number of years now. Feels like a nerve pain. The docs have sent me for xray (twice) which has showed nothing, tried different pain killers (nothing worked).
The pain is so intense when I get it, & only lasts for about 30 seconds, sometimes longer, sometimes several times in the same day, then I can go for days with nothing.

It's driving me mad now, I've tried 3 of the gps in our surgery, none of them have had any new ideas.

Anyone any ideas or suggestions please (the gp did say at one point that I could have the toe cut off...........NO thanks!!!)

  • Gout? Uric acid crystals in the joint, I think. Sharp, stabbing pain.

  • Is it the big toe?Is there anything that you can correlate to that? How is your urine? Abundant and with a strong smell? It might be some kind of gouty condition...Do you have perfect bowel movements? If you b.m. is light in color or runny- you need to pay attention to what you eat- and do some food rotation. Are you overweight? Do you get the pain on days that you try to be more physically active? These is all related to Kidney, Pancreas, Liver health and with stress- By stress I don't mean 'emotional' stress- but stress at the chemical level, what your body is supposed to generate to keep you going during high seasons of activity. Sugar comsuption has ahuge correlation rate with gout- but again, it is different for everyone. The triggers of gout vary from person to person- but gout never comes alone- there are always other symptoms and behavioral patterns. The medication that 'works' on gout will really mess up your body- Colchicine- it is very toxic and it gives sexual side effects and low sperm count. So the best thing is to take a Holistic approach and try to work on your overall health to avoid the gout attacks as much as possible. As usual, check with a DOM, TCM, or NAET professional- also see if you can get urine test or crystal test from your reg. doctor- so he can give you some Colchicine. You will need a Western Doctor and an Integrative Doctor. The Colchicine is good so you can think and function, but taking it hurts your health. Diabetes, Obesity, Depression, Irritability, Modd swings, they are all linked to Gout- and I the medicine does not make those symptoms better even when the pain is gone.Drink plenty of fluids- try to read on Gout and alternative as much as you can.Best.Fruit.
