I'm a 44 year old female with a history of ovarian cysts. For the last month, I've been in moderate pain. I have severe rectal pain (I can't sit for more than a few moments at a time), vaginal burning, abdominal bloating, and extreme fatigue. I finally got disgruntled with the initial doctor I saw and visited a second doctor last week. He found what he's calling a "mass" near my rectum. I'm scheduled for a CT scan this Tuesday. The doctor says depending on what the scan shows, he may request a colonoscopy ( he did mention the possibility of anal cancer given my symptoms). I questioned both doctors about endometriosis but was told that probably wasn't the case because the pain and discomfort don't jive with my menstrual cycle. I tried to explain to the doctors that my cycle isn't regular ( I have a cycle approximately every other week). I visited my gyn 2 weeks ago because of extreme pain on my right side (turns out I had another ovarian cyst rupture). I was scheduled to have a hysterectomy back in Feb but had to reschedule because I was diagnosed with whooping cough! Now that the "cough from heck" is under control, my hysterectomy has been scheduled for early June. I'm trying really hard not to freak out (that's kinda hard once a doctor mentions the "C" word). I'm leaning towards endometrisis...Any thoughts?Reply Follow This Thread Stop Following This Thread Flag this Discussion
