Hi, I am a 29 yr old mom of 2, I have a history of large cysts in my tubes and ovaries, (been hospitalized 2x for ruptures). I am not one to complain & Due to my stubborn/pigheaded ways i do not take pain meds, so when i have I don't think the docs believe me since i won't take thier pain meds they try to cram down me. Any how I have been having alot of diffrent issues for the past year or so, not all at same time but I think all must be related somehow.
It started with fatigue (i had just started working 12 hr shifts at work) so i over looked it, then I started having memory loss forgeting the little things- can't concentrate, My breast start to swell (no lumps felt) but are very tender, extremly sensitive (lasted about 3 months) I had 3 episodes of bleeding after/during sex, Now as i said i have a history of cysts, therefore i bear abdominal pain well and over look most of it, untill i started noticing my stomach seemed to be distended and bloated, i went to doc, she order Ultra sound (complete workup) she says it's all normal no worries...ok, in november I start getting these wierd headaches that are almost every day not constant but at diffrent times- they start to move down into my neck and continue to accompany them everyday-then about a month later (december 2007) I am in the middle of my work out when i get instant pain 10 out of 10 in my stomach, I feel a need to move my bowels & did with no relief from pain-I still hold back and try to wait it out, after 40 mins of my husbands nagging i give in and head to ER- where i get the out of my head looks for not getting pain meds, and find out that my White blood cell count is very high- stomach and intestines are very swollen- appendix looks fine- so i go home. I visit my doc a few days later she gives me double antibiotics for 2 weeks- I go back to lab- only to see that my white blood cell count is still high- I am very Tired all the time and am ready to feel better, she has no clue whats going on- send me to oncoligists who says what it COULD be- (i work in the medical field so I know what it could be) they just wanna wait & see- My aunt was 35 when she was diagnosed with cancer (ovarian & had spread through abdomen) it was too late for her 8 months later she passed away. I am very woorried about this as i am turning 30- is there anyone who can help, tell what i need to do or test i should look into...I am not gonna sit here & wait I JUST CAN"T I feel sick and am in a battle with myself that apparently I am fighting alone...

  • Note to blaze... not everything is cell phones and lyme disease... OK... You do need to be concerned about cancer.Has anyone in the family tested positive for BRCA1 or BRCA2 genes. You might want to go to your nearest highly reputable medical school (what region do you live in?) and let a bunch of drs get on the case. The more eyes and heads the better. NO MRI or CAT SCANS of the ABDOMEN?If not done yet... Id get one of those.;) My family has two ovarian cancer victims and a bunch of breast and stomach cancer victims. We have the BRCA1 gene. :( Have you been to a GI doctor yet? • I'm not sure why you don't like pain medications. If you obey the dosing instructions, don't drive or work, why wouldn't you want to sleep well at night? Are you allergic or do they make you feel odd? Your body is under tremendous stress when in pain, and the resultant high blood pressure etc. will not help in your diagnosis, or your headaches. Trying to stay on top of the pain, and not toughing it out will help your body heal. There are many different meds out there (personally, codeine makes my scalp crawl), and I think you might find one that will help you relax. Or are you saying that you have pain, but it doesn't bother you? Have you been evaluated for PCOS? How did they know it wasn't your appendix? Ultrasound or CT?

  • Perhaps the cysts are causing hormone fluctuations... Maybe that's the cause of your breast tenderness...

  • Have a GI dr look at you... the elevated white count at the same time as the inflammation in your intestines sounds GI related to me now. That will cause bloating... and the antibiotics will also lead to bloating (look into probiotic supplements). Have a GI dr look at the upper gi tract with upper gi endoscopy and the lower gi endoscopy. Also look into the sm intestine... (pill cam?). Could be you have some inflammatory bowel disease... crohns or ulcerative colitis. Celiac disease should also be ruled out. And some metabolic diseases. Don't fret so much about the cancer right now, but do consider the BRCA testing.... as you have a family hx of ovarian/breast cancer. Pain meds can be helpful but be very careful about them until you get diagnosed. They mask symptoms. And they can cause conmstipation... which can cause problems with bowel diseases and other metabolic diseases. Ask a dr about stool softner use with strong pain meds (and possible IBD inflammatory bowel diseases). You need to get a better diagnosis of the cause of the inflamed intestines; go to a great GI dr and tell him or her your strong hx of cancer. Go to a medical school if your case gets complicated. • I just thought of something which i didnt think of before for just one of your symptoms. Last year.. for a few mths (not so bad since). I had breast swelling (they swelled so much they went a little hardish). The doctor ended up diagnosing me as having mastalgia. Mastalgia (another word for breast pain) can be caused by quite a few different thingseg hormonal, tumours, certain drugs, weight gain, bra issues etc On the hand out my doctor gave me it says "It is a very common problem with about 2 out of 3 women complaining about breast pain at some stage of their lives. It is most common in the 30's and 40's" My GP/MPs hand out suggests trying "natural" medical first and suggests Vitamin B1 (thiamine) 100 mg per day, Bitamin B6 (pyridoxine) 100 mg per day and evening primrose oil capsules.. 4g per day (use one or a combination of these. "most women (85%) can be treated with natural methods". In my own case Ive found that breast massage, thou it really hurts to do when one is sore.. helps and also when i have the issue, now I dont wear a bra at all at those times (thou my bras do fit properly). That seems to stop mastalgia from getting worst (in my case). blaze..if you have EMF sensitivity.. you really shouldnt be on your computer so much.

  • Hello,This sounds kind of ironic here, but I can relate to what your going through. The headaches, the breast tenderness aka Mystalgia or whatever they called it, the stomach pains, the cramping, the bloating, the ovarian cysts, trouble remembering things and the high WBC CountMy Suggestion to you:1. Listen to these people's advice here, they seem smart and are only trying to help2. Get a second and even a third opinion, when I had pain in my abdomen that lasted a month I went to a different ER who diagnosed me with something completly different and I actually believed it because their treatment worked3. Get checked for the following: . Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome http://women.webmd.com/tc/polycystic-ovary-syndrome-pcos-topic-overview . Thyroid Disease (I reccomend seeking out an Endocrinologist because there could be many hormone imbalances in your body that are making you feel weak, have a high WBC Count ect. ect) . Get chedked for the Breast Cancer Genes (dont worry yourself out about this, at first I thought I had breast cancer or some form of cancer from my symtoms and feared for the worst and it came out to something small) . High White Blood Cell Counts can be from numerous things. The most common thing that this leads to is that your body is fighting off an infection of some sort. The thing that worries me is the fact that the only things that cause high white blood cell counts are the following: InfectionUse of certain medications, such as corticosteroids, antibiotics or anti-seizure drugsSevere physical or emotional stressChronic bone marrow diseases such as a myeloproliferative disorderAcute or chronic leukemiaTissue damage, such as from burnsSo your body is either in severe physical anguish from pain and you no longer feel it or you blank it out because you wont take medications, or you have a bad infection that your body has stopped telling you it is fighting because you have become immunte to it. . Get an MRI and a CT done of your abdomen and if you can, your full body to make sure that the doctors are not missing something If you can still not find the cause of your augish, seek out an Internist, someone that can do tests on the internal organs and study how your body is doing over time and let you know what they think is going on. Lastly, how old are you? If you are in your early to late 30's and have a hormonal imbalance such as hyperthyroidism or pcos, your body can and will start menopause alot earlier than other peoples. Just something you might want to look at.
