hi everyone.

so i really need some help i have been sick for over 9 weeks now.
i have been to my primary doctor, to the hospital, and also to a pulmonoligist and an infectious disease doctor. i have gotten a ct scan of my brain(constant headaches) and of my chest; the results showed that i may have emphysma but im an only 18 years old(female) and a non smoker. i have been told about the alpha 1 deficiency and i was recently tested for it.

my primary doctor has said that i have mono and cmv that are old infections.
i also have pneumonia and mycoplasma. (recent infections)

they keep running the same tests and giving me the same medications; when i take the medicine i start to feel better but about 2-3 days after i have finished taking it i start to feel the same way.

in my heart i feel as though it is something else or they are not looking into these things as well as they should be.

my sypmtoms are:
-headaches(daily basis)
-i am always always tired.
-i become short of breathe easily.
-chest pain(occasional or when i cough)
-dry cough
-muscle, joint and bone aches
-sore throat (occasional)
-runny nose
-yellowish/brown dark circles around my eyes
-pale skin
-loss of appetite(i never feel hungry but will eat when im given food)
-weight loss
-hair loss

oh and i have also had a bronchocpsy and it shows that my left lung is inflamed and the top of both of my lungs are red.
but i have gotten no answers as to why this is.

any input would be greatly appreciated.
thank you.

  • Please check out this link. http://forums.wrongdiagnosis.com/showthread.php?t=62327Check out all the basics and the list of symptoms. You will be amazed at how much b12 covers.Just read the info there. If you want to read more and talk to others with B12 deficiency, stay on this site, and type in above "B12 deficiency commonly misdiagnosed". Ask questions there. Just a suggestion, and something to test. If not you can cross this off your list. Good luck

B-12 can cause a lot of those problems, but also a bad liver can as well. I am certain that if you have a doc worth anything, they have done a liver enzyme test. If not, find a new doc.

  • From your symptoms it sounds like you have CFS/ME. Most with CFS/ME also get fibromyalgia hence why you now also have muscle/join pains. You will probably find yourself developing even more symptoms CFS/ME eg insomnia, IBS, food or chemical issues, dizziness, memory issues etc etc Anyway.. here's a very good symptom list of CFS/ME symptoms based on actual studies http://wwcoco.com/cfids/bernesx.html..... As Im fairly sure CFS/ME is your issue, here's a good support site http://forums.aboutmecfs.org/ best luck ps.. as they havent got a good diagnostic test for CFS/ME it is diagnosed based on symptoms after having it for 6mths so most doctors will be relucant to give you a diagnoses for a further 4mths.. With most it takes our doctors that long to rule out all the other stuff anyway (sounds like your doctors thou have been doing a great job and already done that) ... but a good CFS/ME specialist can diagnose the illness earlier as they know more what to rule out and the normal symptom patterns of this illness. So i highly advise you find out where you can see someone who specialises in this illness if you dont want to wait for 4 mths or more for a diagnoses (while the whole thing is worsening). Learning to deal with this illness early, may prevent it from becoming much worst.

  • I forgot to add that mycoplasma is very common in CFS/ME. We can often suffer from infections etc. A reason why Chronic fatigue syndrome has the name Chronic Fatigue Immunity dysfunction Syndrome (CFIDS) in some places.
