This problem that has been bothering me since jan of 09 and every eurologist, dermatologist and dr have told me its not an std by any means, although i have never been tested. One said its papules, another said it was balanitis initially, and i went back and now he said it was contact dermatitis. I have checked out pictures of contact dermatitis and it doesnt really look similar. Over the last year and a half it has changed very little until now.. It is getting worse and it was only on the rim of my penis now i am getting very small red dots some clustered and some stray mostly on the bottom underside of my penis and the stray ones on the top of the head. This is starting to alarm me

I had unprotected sex in nov of 08 with someone i didnt know very well which is unlike me. Anyway, The blood vessels on the rim of the head of my penis have been a discolored uneven red looking (11 oclock) mostly after ive become erect and even if im not, its still a more noticable red, like an irritated red coloring, but only the rim. It really gets my mind racing every day when i wake up due to this problem never going away, no matter what topical creams i have been given. Before i went to any eurologist i went to my primary doctor who told me i have balanitis/contact dermatitis due to having sex with someone with a yeast infection he gave me creams and none of them worked what so ever..

Every other dr told me its just my blood vessells and thats the way they are (this is before i started getting these stray bumps/dots But i still dont buy this as of late there are tiny red bumps not only on the rim but now on the head of my penis. Some are SLIGHTLY raised and some you cant really feel but you can definitely see them. Every dr, eurologist and dermatologist ruled out any stds, although ive never been tested. The one and only thing that leads me to believe this is something signifigant or more than just blood vessels or my penis "changing" like one eurologist told me is that there are white 'spots' or "specks" regarding the pigmentation of my skin towards and sort of around the opening of my eurethra. Sometimes theyre there and sometimes theyre not. That is the only sign that leads me to believe there is something wrong with me or that its something different than "Contact Dermititis" Im starting to think its some kind of fungal rash, although initially i did get tingling and some itching on penis at the tip when this problem first started in jan of 09 but really nothing at all since visible signs arose.

I was just curious as to what other skin conditions/problems may cause white patches of spots or dots around the eurertha/head. Theyre not raised very much although you can feel them above the skin. NONE of this was there before jan of 09, i had a normal healthy, regular looking penis, never got red along the rim, never had spots nothing.. now after a masturbate every red dot is extremely noticable and red and its really discouraging. Ive had a girlfriend since january of this year and we have had unprotected sex a bunch times, and she is fine, she hasnt had any problems etc..neither has my girlfriend before her So im pretty positive its not an std.. its driving me crazy i really dont know what to think could be wrong? What could it be? Ive been ASSURED this is no std, i just cant seem to rest easy. No matter what skin condition pictures ive googled in the last 2 years, nothing really looks like what i have WHAT could this be?

What could cause these spots/redness around the rim?

I have pictures that should definitely help.

  • yeah iv'e had unprotected sex. i think the red dots first started right after i did. and it seems like they're more exaggerated and noticeable after i've been hard or for like 3-5 minutes right after sex.it sounds like we're having the same thing, but i've never gone to the doctor cause that's hella embarrassing...

  • Hey, sounds like we all have the same problem. I had unprotected sex with a girl, then I started to notice red dots, and the head area is not dry. ( I'm uncercomzise) I did a blood test, pee test, and even showed it to my doctor the results were fine. He said it could be a fongus, so he sent me athletes foot cream -.- but that didn't help, and now I have one white spot on the head (penis) and its freaking me out. Maybe using anti-perfume soap, and keeping ur head dry as much as you can will get rid of the dots.. But eventually they'll come back.

  • Guys- same problem here tooI also had unprotected sex and they started to appear about a week or so after that. The common thing in all these cases is unprotected sex. I've had a whole lot of tests done as well and no STD for me either...Any news from your side?

  • Someone who had unprotected sex and is experiencing issues afterwards yet has never been tested for anything....is...well...what can I say... anyway...run to your nearest STD clinic and get the full battery, including hpv. They are free; one that they don't do is the herpes 2 blood test...you need to be tested for everything!!! Don't count on what a doctor thinks, but demand to see the results of lab tests. You are getting the run around. Could be just yeast, but then, it could be a combination of several things. How would they know if they didn't do a std screening? A virgin would have little pimple type things that are nothing, most likely...

  • I have been following this thread for a bit. I have what seems to be the same issue. Seems like dryness or irritation from friction makes the bumps more pronounced! I have had this for a couple of years or a little more. My girlfriend has had regular checkups at her gyno, and nothing abnormal has shown up. I have had an itchy rash (what I assumed was jock itch under my scrotum and on the inside of my legs) sometime during when I got the bumps and a doctor told me to use monostat which made the rash go away temporarily. the bumps have never gone away totally and make raised areas as they cluster, freaking me out because I think it is a wart, but then the bumps change and the raised areas move around. I am going to go to a dermatologist soon as I can make an appointment so I will tell you what I find if anything. I had the bump issue checked out when I first got the first sight of something abnormal and they tested for warts, but said it wasn't that. I had it checked by someone else a year or so later and they said it was my normal pores etc.......??????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FRUSTRATING!!!!!! Curiously, did anyones girlfriend, or the people you had unprotected sex with have any kind of psoriasis or skin conditions? We are all thinking STD here, but maybe it is a sexually associated skin condition and not really an std but some other kind of sexually transmitted skin virus or fungus not know of before. Maybe it is something never diagnosed before?! I mean lets keep looking for the answer and share it here, but lets try to look outside the box also.?

  • Wow, thats all i can say. This sounds exactly like what i have been going through for the last 20 months.Let me explain my situation and what i have tried. Hopefully we can figure this out. January of 2009, i had unprotected sex, shortly after i was getting some itching on my scrotum. Some tingling around the rim of my tip at times. It was very unnerving. I have few of these red dots. Around the rim of my head i have developed some bumps that resemble genital warts but can not be confirmed. The head is now kind of bumpy when hard and forcing pressure on it. I have noticed some very tiny bumps on the head and general "non smoothness" that has occurred that never used to be there. Also some bumps and "changed" skin on the underside of my shaft, sort of following the seam or whatever you would like to call it. I am circumsized, and noticed that where the skin came together seems more irritated and puffy or generally not the same.. All of my conditions are not sever enough to get anyone to say anything one way or the other. I really feel like i do have some type of Genital warts, but if they are, they are very small and or flat. I have tried many times to soak them in apple cider vinegar, which generally should reveal these warts by changing their color to white-ish. This does not work for me. I notice a lot of the bumps on the underside of my shaft are in hair follicles, which the dermatologist dismissed as just oils/acne type stuff. These were not here before the sex. The picture that lead me to this thread, looked nearly identical to what i have been experiencing.Doctor Stuff: I have gone through countless Dr. appointments. Seen 3 different urologist. 2 Regular doctors and 2 dermatologists. Who all seem convinced that nothing is wrong and im over thinking this. MY skin was NOT like this before January of last year. I have been tested for nearly every STD out there and nothing has come up positive. I do believe that the tingling, some puffyness and irritation is caused from yeast that was passed on to me by the female. I can not confirm this because it has been a royal pain to treat and i am still trying to deal with it currently. Doing all kinds of medications, powders and home remedies. I can knock it back at times but never goes away. I do believe the yeast plays a roll in the puffy/redness which you guys might not be experiencing. Altho i do share all the same bumps, red dots, and things of that nature. One part of my lower shaft near the head seemed a lot like a wart, the skin was coverd in very very tiny bumps, i had the doctor cut it off and send it in for a amino stain type of biopsy test, from what i know, the only way to detect HPV in males. It came back negative for HPV/Genital warts. Im at a loss. At one point the urologist thought it was the start of GW, this was 3-4 months after the sex. He gave my condylox and i burn the **** out of my ***k, and had to stop using it cause it cause an allergic reaction with me, all the while not doing anything but burning off a few layers of skin and costing me 200$ I am about 20 months in and it seems to be spreading slowly. I can not figure out what is going on like everyone else in here. i will post more later, have to run.. Please reply if you have ANY information!!

  • Like I said, you all need the blood test for herpes 2 specific; it can look just like jock itch, especially.

Came up positive with HSV1, which i expected because i have gotten cold sores my whole life, but came up Negative for HSV2. Was a relief but also kind of frustrating because it was another dead end trying to figure out what this is. THe only thing i can come up with on my own is that is is some strain of HPV that is not well known OR a type of yeast that damages the skin and is hard to kill. Because i feel like i have knocked it back at times by fighting it really hard with anti yeast drugs and remedies. but it seems to get immune to it after a short period of time and stop getting better.

  • Like I said, you all need the blood test for herpes 2 specific; it can look just like jock itch, especially.I would agree that anyone who has not been tested do so however, herpes can easily be ruled out here. Unless you are breaking records, the longest recorded outbreaks I can find on the internet are 12 weeks. And if you do a little reading you will find that most commonly they only last a week or so in those with an otherwise healthy immune system. So if it goes away and comes back then you should get tested for herpes but if it’s always there (as it sounds like in these posts), chances are it’s something else.I have read through the posts by chainsaw and the others and believe I have had the same issue for a year or so. It started 6 or so months after having unprotected (both been tested) sex with my gf at the time.Originally I was prescribed anti-fungal creams (for yeast infection) but after several different types and doctors it is still getting worse. A dermatologist told me she didn't think it was warts. Tried freezing them and said they didn't freeze like warts which apparently stay frozen visibly longer than the surrounding skin. I was prescribed 2 different types of topical steroids. Neither have had any more effect than lotion. I have also seen a urologist who told me everything looked normal spent more time explaining how the penis can change.....blah blah blah, than he did examining me.I know my body well enough to feel when something isn't right. My symptoms:Blood vessel looking streaks on underside of penis spreadingReally small and/or flat bumps in the same areaThe area is very sensitive and stings at nightIrritated urethraOccasional stinging when urinatingIf anyone has any further information I would really appreciate the insight. I should mention that I have tested negative for known STD's so far.Looking at seeing more specialist and will post any findings.
