I'm experiencing alot of pain and discomfort from pain inside my neck which feels warm to the touch. It is only on the right side of my neck. The skin also looks reddish to me. When I press the soft area just above my collar bone to my right it feels puffy and very painful. It also pains me to clear my throat and to cough. There is no mucus. It's been coming on slowly for about a week but tonight I feel it more. Any ideas?

I am going to see my doctor in the morning but I was wondering if anyone knows what I'm dealing with. I have had strep throat in the past and this is not it.

  • I had throat pain on one side for over a year. It radiated from my ear to under my chin area. I was treated for TMJ for over a year with no success. Then I was sent to an ENT doctor who found my salivary gland to be bad and a small tumor behind it. I had the gland and tumor removal. The pain disappeared. See an ENT. There are many glands in the area you described.
