I'm having a strange throat problem and thought I would ask your opinion. On the left side of my throat, I can see that it is a bit red and swollen. My tonsils were removed about 1 year ago due to chronic infection and deep pockets. I don't think they removed the adenoids though. When I swallow it feels like there is mucus in the back of my throat, only on the left, so I swallow constantly hoping it'll go down or the feeling will go away, but it doesn't. I've also had sharp pains in both ears a few times, infection with puss in left ear a couple months ago, I can feel a small nodule on my neck just above and to the left of the adams apple that is about the size of a blueberry, and I have a funny taste in my mouth today. I was also diagnosed with hypothyroidism in the last year, I was taking medication for it, but ran out and cannot refill it just yet because I'm in the process of changing insurance and it wouldn't be covered. I was also a smoker for several years, but quit about 2 years ago. I have a couple cavities I need to get filled, but they're small and don't appear infected....my gums look fine....tongue looks fine, just tastes funky. I do intend to have it checked out, I was just curious to see if anyone had an idea of what would cause this. I have no other symptoms except for slightly high blood pressure usually about 120/90. This taste in my mouth and the swelling in the back of my throat are driving me bananas!!! :(Reply Follow This Thread Stop Following This Thread Flag this Discussion
