alright, my symptoms are as follows:

- moderate fatigue
- generalized pruritus (itch) without lesions/rashes
- body ache (bone, muscle, joint), including a chest pain
- sore throat
- occasional diarrhea
- headaches
- mental lethargy/tiredness

the most concerning part of this whole thing is the itchiness without rash... it could be anything from HIV to an allergy?

  • There's a condition that fits those symptoms perfectly AND stays on the top 7 list of mis-diagnosed issues. Food intolerence. Possibly milk, wheat, corn, or a combination of them based on the level of digestive damage. If you've been tested for the things doctors usually look for first and it doesn't yield results, talk to an allergenist for a blood serum analysis.

  • Did anything significant or out of the ordinary happen then? Change locations, diets, sexual partners, medications? Mold could be a significant concern based on the relatively rapid onset...Was there a major storm in the area or has anywhere you spend time at had any leaks or water damage?A virus or bacteria could cause an infection with those results too. But, that would be the first things a doctor would rule out, you went to the doctor, right? :D

  • they suggested it was an allergy...her alternate guess was mono, but since my lymph nodes were not enlarged/swollen, she didnt even order me to get mono testing done...

If the symptoms continue on for mths.. something like that could also be CFIDS IF you have "post excertional fatigue" which starts affecting your life as well. CFIDS people can get unexplained itchiness along with sometimes other skin sensations (thou it isnt a well known or common symptom of it) but at this point of time it would probably be unlikely. I too really doubt very much if it would be anything to do with mono, seeing your lymph nodes are normal, I had mono and it was quite clear cause of the glands and the other typical mono symptoms that I had it.. as far as I know, itching isnt involved in mono either and you didnt mention fever..so it wouldnt be mono.

  • yeah, i think the only sure fire way to know is get a total blood evaluation...i expect that it'll be a viral infection or some sort of food allergy
