Hi all
5years ago had a right hip replacement and also have phlebetis in the right leg which i take warfrin for.18 months ago i got out of bed and my first step on my right leg sent a stabbing pain in my thigh which put me on the floor. After a couple of weeks thankfully all returned to normal except the anticipation of it recurring was always in my mind.It has recurred several times in the last year although not as bad as the first time and always on the first step after arising then it diminishes after further steps. The pain is in the muscle on the outside of the thigh about 5 ins above the knee.Doctors and cunsultants com up with ideas like loose hip joint(which xrays dont agree with)however my guess is that it has something to do with the blood supply to that muscle. Please it would be nice to here if you have any problems similar to this and also your comments
