I have always had a sensitive stomach, and was diagnosed with IBS by a GI when I was in 8th grade (after extensive blood work and other testing came back negative). Now I am a freshman in college, and the problem has gotten much much worse, but only when I am away at school! It all began when I ate the food here in the cafeteria. I had severe diarrhea for weeks. Finally I gave up all the food, and cook for myself, and got bottled water, but something is still upsetting my stomach.
It seems that the day I return to school, something in my body switches, and I have severe loose stools and diarrhea every few days. At home, I am fine. My regular doctor did nothing and put me on a laxative (which was terrible). My chiropractor helped a lot, and gave me good supplements and told me to stay away from wheat, and dairy since I already have a problem with it (when I am home, I never really have a problem unless I eat badly). But as soon I am back to school, it all returns.
I was away in Mexico for a week, ate terribly, and drank the water, and had not one problem. Please help because I am tired of feeling terrible all the time, especially when I have school work to concentrate on!
