Symptons - Unsure what it is/could be!

I'm in a muddle, I don't know what I've got, or if I've got anything. Any help would be much appreciated, I'll try to be as short as possible.

I came back off holiday on April 1st, on the way back, I was quite nervous on the plane, didn't really have a nice time, and in the last days of my holiday I had a badly blocked/runny nose, and on the end of the flight I had a huge pain above my left eye during descent. Possibly due to sinus blockage?

Since this, I've not felt exactly right. It's nearly been a month and it's still not correct. I've still got gradual build up of headaches on the left side of my head. Otherwise, it's just other symptoms like fatigue, and lack of concentration at times. It just seems I'm less 'focused' than I was prior.
What could this be? I'm still not 100%, I can still feel gradual headaches every so often, on the left side mainly.

I thought it could be to do with my sinuses, or maybe even my eyes, I spend a lot of time on the PC due to the nature of my work. With continous strain, I thought this could've caused the headaches/concentration loss.

Any feedback would be brilliant.

  • It does sound like a sinus infection. Why delay? See a doctor & get some antibiotics. Friends tell me their symptoms were eliminated within 24/48 hrs of starting meds.

  • The only reason I haven't been to the doctors as of yet, is I think I'm a mild hypochondriac, I automatically see symptoms as worst case scenarios and worry myself more sick over them than I already am. This occasionally puts me off seeing anyone, as I know it may be nothing but just because I'm an extensive worrier. I hope it's a sinus infection, to an extent, so it's nothing worse! I've booked an appointment for later on tonight, and hope they can sort it out. I'll post the outcome here, just if anyone's interested. If anyone has anymore suggestions though, it'd be nice to hear.

  • Hi; Just an update. I was given amoxicillin on Monday, as they said I had a sinus problem by the looks of it. I feel a little better than I did on Monday, but, still, not 100% or completely focused, but I'll see how it goes after completed the full prescription.

  • Probably a sinus infection, I've had one for about 1 1/2 months, I didn't go to the doctor though. They can last a long time and that explains almost all your symptoms. If you go to the doctor they will most likely put you on broad spectrum anitbiotics (which is bad at this day and age because of bacteria becoming immune to almost every antibiotic we have. THANK ANTIBACTERIAL SOAPS too) anyways, whether it's viral or bacterial, the antibiotics will clear up the bacterial infection...if present, and prevent a secondary bacterial infection from forming since your immune system is down from the virus. It really does sound like a viral infection to me though. Just let your body fight it if it can...it help your body out and others in the long run.
