Hard to know where to begin, im a 34 year old male. I have had pain in my feet (mainly balls) for the past 2.5years, butterfly like rash on my face (nose and cheeks)on and off for the past 6 years - which gets worse from being in the sun. Both my hands now have pain in joints (knuckles and some of my finger joints) for about the past 3 months. I am having pain through out my body which can last for a quick minute or so or last alot longer. Different areas of body feel different pain (some feel like joint pain, others feel like muscle pain, aches) This is happenning everyday! I feel the cold bad and sometime 1/2 of my middle finger turns "white". For the past 2 months I have been getting alot worse with fatigue, having trouble staying awake early afternoon regardless of my nights sleep or daily activitys. (Even sleeping in and having a easy day I still get very tired) I also feel like im getting weaker and having little energy. There is also a pain in my chest (left side) mainly when breathing deeply but not all the time.
My ANA and ds-DNA test are negitive. I have been retested 3 times now (only 1 time the ds-DNA result was borderline)
I have also been tested for RA which was negitive aswell
I have had xrays on my feet, hands and chest and they were all clear.
My GP believes I have Lupus and sent me to a rheumatologist which said after more blood tests im clear and dont have lupus.
Originally my GP put me on Solone which within 3 days cleared my face rash and took the pains away or drop them to a minimal level. My rheumatologist took me off Solone and put me on Mobic as a safer option. I stopped Solone and had no tablets for 1 week, within that time all pains returned aswell as my "butterfly" rash...(very bad this time) I started Mobic and after 3 days I had a allergic reaction to it (hives, rash ,itchy...both legs, arms, spots on chest and back) so have now been given Celebrex to help with pain and also using a steroid cream on my face rash (within 3 days it cleared up) Over the past 6 years I have tried afew anti fungal creams from different GP's for my face rash but nothing worked on it until now with the steroid cream.
My GP still thinks I have Lupus as all symptoms point to it but my blood results are clear. There is a family history of auto immune diseases and my cousin has had lupus for now 20 years.
I have read that you can have all the symptoms of Lupus and the blood test changing positive later, although how common is this or how long until this happens?
I really dont know whats wrong with me and know my future will be ongoing appointments, blood tests, etc until the rheumatologist can make a decision.
Can anybody relate to my confused state and give me any information, advise or personal experience which may help me or point me in another direction. I have another rheumatologist appoinment again in 5 weeks time and told not to worry to much...yeah right!
