Please reply..Someone!!! Last night while I was eating, I fet a terrible pain in my throat when I tried to swallow food (like a stick was in my throat) and I had a hard time swallowing. The right side of my neck swelled up instantly and so did my tongue (underneath). I called the ER and the nurse said to take benedryl. I did, it put me to sleep, nothing else. Today, I cannot eat anything because even one small bite and I start swelling big time. If I don't eat or drink anything, the swelling doesn't get any worse and seems to go down somewhat. I am not allergic to foods, I was only eating a piece of turkey and I don't have a sore throat. My PCP is gone until Monday. I am in healthcare but have not heard of this before. I am worried. Does anyone know anything about this. My glands in my neck are huge, but not sore. My tongue swells SO much whenever I try to eat. What is causing this?? Please help!:mad:I am SO hungry but afraid to eat.Reply Follow This Thread Stop Following This Thread Flag this Discussion
