Im male , 21 years old. Over the past few months my throat has been slightly swollen and my glands have been up... no pain anywhere! I have been to the doctor a few times and he said it doesn't seem like something problematic, it might be an allergy or something. I had a throat swab and it came up with nothing. As well my dentist noticed a bit of swelling and said i shouldnt do anything about it at the moment. I am a pretty paranoid person when it comes to health. I have never had any health problems except for glandular two years ago. I am pretty nervous about this, and dont know what to do.

  • This is typical of picking up some low-grade infection. I suppose the glands you are referring to are the lymph glands under the jaw? You could try some natural anti-biotic options like raw garlic, oil of oregano (see Dr. Cass Ingram -"the cure in the cupboard", goldenseal etc. You could also try to upgrade your nutrient intake with whole foods more vegetables etc. to boost the immune system.

  • There are several things that can cause swollen glands and fortunately most of them are minor. Do you have a fever as well? Are the glands constantly swollen or do you have "flare-ups"? Do you have swollen glands anywhere else (like under your armpit)? In general different lymph nodes flush out different parts of your body. One thing you could do would be to look up the affected node online and see what it flushes (eyes, throat, etc.). This may help pinpoint the problem. Also, have you had a wbc blood test done just to rule out anything awful (like cancer) or have you had your thyroid tested?

  • yes the glands that are inflamed are the ones under the jaw. ill try the natural anti biotics, should that make it better how long do low grade infections stay for?

  • If you have no other symptoms, then you have nothing to worry about. Our lymph nodes are there to fight off many types of problems within the body and it can take months after a small infection or whatnot for those glands to normalize. Don't worry! Kiera

  • Well my turned out to be strongyloides - had to swallow betadine mouthwash, fixed my throat but the Ivermectin hasn't cured me - good luck!
