My mom has had a swollen paratoid gland for over 4 years. A doctor recommended surgery to remove the gland (we thought?). So my mom went in for surgery and when they opened her up they said there was no cancer (lymphoma?) but lots of white blood cells. They ended up leaving her gland in place.
After the surgery my mom when to a rheumatologist and he said that she has mickulicz disease. So they gave her an IBG4 test and the test came back positive and said yes you have mickulicz disease i'm so happy i diagnosed you right, but there's nothing we can do for you.
My mom is very conscious of her swollen gland and sometimes freaks her out because sometimes it does flare up. Does anyone have any experience with this? Has anything helped? I really want to help her but don't know how.
Thanks so much
