Swollen neck lymph nodes -- food allergy?

The first time they swelled (just the left side) it was after I had eaten Sour Patch Kids about a month ago. They swelled quite a bit, to the point that it was visible under my jaw and I was having trouble swallowing. I also felt a stinging sensation on the left side of my tongue. Now, it hasn't happened quite as bad since then, so since I stopped eating SPK, I figured the problem was solved. Tonight, I ate a pomegranate and they're swelling again! Same stinging on my tongue.
I've also had an on/off cold for about a month running. It's nothing too serious, just an obnoxious runny or stuffed nose. I don't feel fatigued or anything.
I'm honestly a little bit concerned right now and as it's Friday, I won't be able to get an appointment until Monday at the earliest. Any ideas about what could be causing this until then?

  • Many possible causes for this, some no big deal, some serious. Try here: http://www.wrongdiagnosis.com/l/lymphedema/causes.htm Candidiasis is likely. Sugar in candy & fruit will irritate it.
