I got extremely ill December 2008 with a sore throat, mild fever, and body aches. A week later I went to the emergency room and was diagnosed with tonsillitis and put on antibiotics and regular tylenol. After feeling better I noticed swollen lymph nodes on my neck, armpits and groin area. A month ago (April 09) I went to see a physician because the lymph nodes were getting larger. I was put on antibiotics and felt better. They did go down a bit but a week later they were again large and now my tonsils were huge. I was given a shot (antibiotic) and methylprednisolone and the nodes were no longer visible through the skin. Now they have reappeared but not a large as hey were. On the last visit the doctor was 99% sure I had mono but the test came back negative along with the throat culture. The two nodes on my neck (tonsilar region) are firm and are a bit smaller (diameter) than a polo button. I also have one on the back of my neck with the same characteristics. The one on my left chest an inch away from my nipple is smaller but firm and movable. One is under my right along with two in the groin area all firm and painless. I workout and play tennis at least 4 days every week, have asthma, takes claritin d for allergies , 23 y.o a senior biology and biochemisty double major and I get 3 to 6 hours of sleep during the week. I have had these nodes for 5 months! Could this be cancer? Anyone with similar symptoms?Reply Follow This Thread Stop Following This Thread Flag this Discussion
