Swollen joints and lymph nodes?

I am a 22 year old female. For the past year, I've had very swollen lymph nodes in my neck and underarms. I've also been experiencing widespread joint pain, noticeable swelling, and redness, especially in my hands, neck, and spine. I have no skin symptoms whatsoever, little to no fatigue--just pain and swelling. I went to the doctor recently, and my ANA was positive, 1:180 titer, homogeneous. But my sed rate/ESR was very low (a mere 2) and my Rheumatoid Factor was negative (11). Everything else was normal, and I have no signs of infection or lymphoma. I've been referred to a rheumatologist, but I can't get an appointment for a few months. I'm wondering--what can this be? I'm so anxious to figure it out! I may have to wait months for treatment, but having some sort of clue as to what this is would be a huge weight off my shoulders! Any help, advice, or experience you could offer would be very much appreciated. I've been doing research, but nothing seems to quite fit, and I'm beginning to wonder if all this swelling and pain is occurring for no reason at all, or I'm just going crazy!

  • My dear, please have your physician do a Lupus profile (blood tests), as well as an HIV test.
