It all started on sunday when I woke up and the glands in my throat were swollen. It wasn't to bad of a feeling so I pretty much just tried to ignore it. So on Monday when I woke up my glands were still swollen and hurt a lot more when I would swallow and I had a headache as well. So i went to the doctors later that day, turned out I had a fever aswell. So they gave me an antibiotic and told me they thought it was some sort of virus. Now 2 days later, my glands are still swollen, my ears sometimes ache, and sometimes when i cough to get the mucus out of my throat, there is blood in it. I plan on going back to the doctors today, cause well...I don't believe the antibotics are working to well.

but if anyone has any idea whats going on let me know!

  • If the doctor thought it was a virus - there was no point in putting you on antibiotics which are only for bacterial infections. It might very well be a virus that can take several days to clear your system. Some viral infections can take a week or more to clear your system. The blood in your mucous may just be from your nose from blowing it too hard.

  • well i totally agree with you on that, if it is a virus i have no idea why they have me on an antibiotic. but i just went back to the doctor and pretty much he told me he thinks it is a upper respirtory(sorry for spelling) infection, or could just be a virus. and as far as the blood, i haven't been blowing my nose at all :( and of course being my dumb self I forgot to mention that to the doctor when i was there
