For the past couple months I have noticed that whenever my hands are exposed to the cold for 1 minute or so, my fingers begin to itch, turn red and ultimately swell up. I experience the same sympstoms when holding a cold drink. The itching lasts only 20 seconds or so, however the swelling remains for up to 10 minutes after fingers have returned to room temperature.
Any ideas on what may be causing this reaction ?
