Hi. I'm a newby. Eight days ago my right foot became sore and tender at the base of my second toe. Based on previous examinations, I (and my MD) were pretty sure I had a case of gout. Usually I suffer through it for three-four days and it goes away, w/o meds. This happens less than once a year. This time, the symptoms almost went away, and then returned shifted to the ball of my foot. That's never happened before. I walk with a limp, putting weight on the outside of the right foot. I feel minor pain in the foot even when I am at rest. I take several meds for hypertension (nothing new or changed recently) and a minimal dose of Glucophage to manage slightly high blood sugar. I am about ten pounds overweight and in my early 60's. I checked out the "foot pain and" multiple symptoms, and none seem to apply. Any ideas? Can gout persist for long periods?Reply Follow This Thread Stop Following This Thread Flag this Discussion
