I'm 31. From time to time, my ankles swell up for no reason. Also too painfull to walk on. Doctors says no arthritis, but doesn't know what's wrong. I'd like to do some research on my own, but I have no idea what it could be. Anyone know any lists of possible reasons?

Also, Tendonitus can hit anywhere in the body and cause swelling and hot feeling in joints. IF you are on your feet a lot, that can also cause swelling. The swelling itself is probably causing the pain which is just a symptom from the swelling. Good luck, Kirby
