recently i've had very itchy feet and whenever i scratch them, they swell up later in the day, making it very painful to walk on them. I have also noticed that other places that I scratch seem to inflame, they look a lot like hives. I have switched soaps several times, hoping to find one that may be the problem, however i stopped scratching with my hands, using instead other items that would possibly be free of the contaminant on my hands, thinking maybe that was the case, and any place i scratch gets inflamed. it has led to large clusters that turn into one large hive in severe cases, where an outside irritant persisted for awhile. for example, i went to a cardinals baseball game, and sat in the chairs. the fellow next to me was quite large, and as such, i leaned to my other side, resting on the arm rest. the next day i noticed a large, very red, very itchy line on my side, directly where the arm rest had been against my skin, where i had been putting weight on it. any idea what could cause this? It has only been happening recently

  • Try an anti-histamine orally such as Benadryl. It might make you sleepy, but it can relieve hives.

  • I suffer from exactly the same thing...well, not on my feet but the rest of me for sure...I've just learned to live with it, the swelling goes away after a few minutes (for me at least anyway). I think it's just sensitive skin or something...recently i've had very itchy feet and whenever i scratch them, they swell up later in the day, making it very painful to walk on them.
