Yesterday I started to feel unbelievable pain in the last (top) joint of my left index finger. It is very sore to touch, especially on th one side and there is slight swelling on the joint on this side. Apart from this there is no discolouration, I have not injured it but today it is so sore to touch and throbs. All very weird????

  • I had the exact same problem 3 years ago. It started in my finger then a few weeks later, my knee. Finally went to the doctor after a few months because when I got out of bed in the a.m. I could hardly walk-diagnosis:rheumatoid arthritis. There is a simple blood test that can be done, I feel good on most days, but I do take meds everyday. Good Luck!

  • I have had the same problem and was diagnosed with Still's Disease (MANY other symptoms also) which is a type of Rheumatoid Arthritis. However, my pain is in all the small joints in my hands and feet and I was also recently diagnosed with Hashimoto's Disease and am hypothyroid and found that the joint pain can be caused by thyroid issues! Go figure!
