Strep Throat Once A Month!?

Hello there. I have been "diagnosed" at least once a month, around the same times of each month with Strep Throat since August 2007. I take my antibiotics each time all the way through. And each time, it still comes back. At the moment, i have a low low fever of 99.3.
It never really gets up to the 100's. But my throat gets sore, it gets harder to breathe. I have sharp pains in my chest on both sides at times. I noticed while looking in a mirror at my tonsils, one of them has a large hole in it. A slit if you will, that I could probably place a dime in. Like a pocket. There is nothing in it. Just a hole. My doctors will NOT take my tonsils out. I am a female. 20 years old. Any advice? Please, I hate being sick for at least two weeks every month.
