For the past few days i've had a small, dark purple bruise around my left hip area. i have not hit it over the past few days, and the strange part is that the 'bruise' doesn't hurt at all. i'm sure there are a lot of conditions that cause that but i also have sensitivity to light, and a feeling of almost disorientation like i'm high off a drug.

  • Wait a few days to see if the bruise goes away. Bruises don't always hurt initally in some people. You may have bumped your hip in your sleep. Or if you've been dizzy lately, you may not have realized you bumped into something as hard as you did. The dizziness could be associated with perhaps an allergy, allegies can develope at any point in your life and even if you weren't allergic to something before, you may be now. Try taking a decongestant. This can also be why you are sensitive to light. Sinuses are located near your optic nerves and if they are swollen, light can bother them. If the bruise doesn't go away or it doesn't improve, and the decongestants don't help, then GO TO THE DOCTOR. Not to cause you any unnecessary worry or grief, but odd, non-painful bruing, (especially located in that region), and dizziness can be two signs of leukemia. Your pelvic region is rich with blood cells so it is not uncommon to have bruises associated with blood disorders present there. If it is that, early detection and treatment are key to beating the disease. However, like I said before, give it a few days to see if it starts to heal. If it does then perhaps talk to your doctor about allergy testing. Good luck.
