My 14 year old son is in constant stomach pain. It is under the rib cage on his right side. It causes him to double over in pain. Sometimes it is hard for him to breathe. He has been to the Gastro Dr. and the surgeon. He has had Endoscopy, Colonoscopy, Stomach Ultrasound, Hida scan and the only thing they found is when the hormone was injected to the hida scan to fake the gallbladder into thinking he ate, he had alot of discomfort. The surgeon suggested he get a Stomach CT but wanted him to be on the prescription strength of Prilosec for the next month or two to see if it is the acid.
He has been on it for the past week and he said it made the pain not as bad but unfortunately he had a severe attack this morning and is once again unable to attend school. My son is not one for wanting to miss school so I know that he is in alot of pain. He is scheduled to see the Gastro Dr. today but they had mentioned it may also be floating rib. Any ideas?
