I just turned 25 and have a 2 year old. I have been sick for going on 3 years now. Tonight I went to the fire department at 5:30 in the morning because I thought I was having a heart attack (Chest pain, shortness of breath, Chest Tight & for the first time ever pain in my left arm). They said I was fine other than an elevated Heart Rate. I was so embarrassed that I got them up at that time of the morning and once again I felt like I was crazyI have seen a Stomach specialist, OBGYN and my family doctor. They say it could be IBS, or reflux or endometriosis and prescribe medicines (It never helps). I have spent more money on tests & lab results than most spend in their lifetime. Please HELP ME! Here are my symptoms: Shortness of Breath, Chest tightness & Chest pain, My heart feels like it is going 90 miles an hour, Severe upper & lower abdominal pain on left & right sides, severe nausea, Bloating, Constipation or Diarrhea (Always one or the other!) Unpredictable & very painful Menstrual Cycles (Sometimes 3 weeks out of a month or at times none at all), Sometimes it hurts during/after sex. These symptoms come and go and will last from anywhere to a few days to months at a time. Nothing triggers these symptoms and I have notice that frequently the abdominal pain & chest symptoms including shortness of breath will occur at or around the same time. I am desperate and out of money & honestly loosing faith in doctors all together. I know I am not crazy, but when you have one physician after another tell you they don't know what is wrong or guess and hope they are right it is a very scary & uneasy feeling. I feel like I am never going to get better! If anyone has any ideas I will be forever thankful!

  • I know how frustrated you must be. Have you had a laparoscopy for endometriosis? It could explain the IBS-like symptoms, stomach pain, menstrual problems and painful sex. I don't really know if it could cause chest pain, but in very rare cases endometrium has been found in places outside of the abdominal area so maybe. I had the laparoscopy 1 1/2 years ago and the doc said some of the tissue was growing too close to organs causing all of the stomach problems. Hope you find some relief soon.

  • I have the exact type of pain. they call it ibs. Its beyond the pain i can handle, sometimes the pain is so severe I feel like I'm having a heart attack, the pain radiates around my stomach, chest, sides, feels like my intestines, kidneys and heart are being sliced and diced, I can easilly hyperventilate however with absolute concentration and focus to watch my breathing keeps low I can barely escape going there. Once hyperventillation takes place, I'm toast, then I have to get to emergency fast cos at that point i'm on the verge of passing out and going into shock. Been there and done that. I've had this since childhood. Six months ago I had some blood tests done with the result being that my potassium level in my blood is too high and that I am at rist of heart attack. I wonder if this has a connection with this insane pain. In fact as I am typing this i am experiencing this pain. pain more intense with breath. time to lie down if anyone can enlighten me please e-mail rainsplace@shaw.ca

  • I Too Had Chest Pains For 2 Years..dr. Finally Did A Ekg And The First 2 Were Fine, Then Chest Pains Got Worse And Heart Felt Like It Was Trying To Run Away. Dr. Did An Echocardiogram And Found That I Had 2 Leaking Valves And My Heartbeat Was So Fast It Was Pumping In Blood Faster That It Could Pump It Out And It Felt Just Like Heart Attack..ask Your Dr. To Do An Echocardiogram (spelling?) With The Right Meds To Slow Heartbeat Its Considerably Better.also I Also Had The Stomach Pain But Now Think That Was From The Stress Of Worrying About The Chest Pains That Noone Could Find A Reason For At First...good Luck
