My boyfriend has been going through almost a year of problems with his stomach and having hemorrhoids. Things didn't start getting really bad until October, meaning the pain got bad enough i made him go to the doc. First they tried suppositories to make the hemorrhoids go away. no luck with that. So we go to a GI doc and says he has hemorrhoids and an anal fissure, so we try more suppositories. During this time he's having painful bowel movements and bloody stool. the GI doc says its the internal hemorrhoids. so after a month of the suppositories not working they decide to surgically fix the fissure. we thought that yes this is the answer. turns out it wasn't. once he had the surgery he started to get moderate to intense lower abdominal cramping and pain, fluctuating fevers, ranging from as low as 95.2 to 102, more bloody stools, he would either be constipated or have diarrhea never normal, and extreme pain with the bowel movements, mild to moderate nausea, a rash on his butt, and started to gain weight. that and his incision wasn't healing correctly, yes i have the lovely job of keeping track of his butt, i tell him he better never doubt my love for him. So we go back to the GI doc and he informs us that the incision has turned into a fistula and believes he has a stomach infection. we were informed to just watch it and see if it gets better on its own and if not there will be another surgery to drain that. Well it doesn't get any better and we go in for the surgery. Once again i get the job of cleaning and watching. it started to get better over the first 3 days, but then started to swell up and get more yellow then pink. His symptoms which started to go away came back with a vengeance and more. now he is always cold, extreme fatigue, painful gas, decrease in appetite, constant headaches, trouble sleeping, and everything he had before. His stomach pain got so bad he went to his GP and he thought he might have appendicitis or some kind of internal infection, so they did a blood test and were informed if the pain gets worse before the results get back to go the hospital. So a few days later we go to the hospital we tell them everything and they do a blood test and check his urine. His blood test were normal, white cell count at 700, urine normal. They didnt do anything else, said he had IBS which we already knew, and it didnt explain everything. so we are kinda at our wits end here. he goes back to see his GI doc in a few weeks and hes going to ask for a colonoscapy. But please if anyone may know wat could cause all this please respond. I dont know wat to do and i'm just worried that i'm going to have to take care of him and our newborn thats due in july. any thoughts welcome
