Hi, I am a 35 yr old female who has no real health problems. Over the past 1.5 yrs, my bowel habits/energy level have changed remarkably. My main complaints are increased gas/bloating,mild nausea frequently, feeling full quickly and my stomach never feels "right",I either have diarhhea or constipation. It feels like my digestive system is always in overdrive. I also have no energy.I do work full time and have 2 young children so I blamed it on this for a while, but I am beginning to think differently. My brother (46 yr)was recently dx with rectal cancer which prompted me to finally raise my concerns to my md about my symptoms. I had a stool sample done which showed "a mild infection " and had a colonoscopy for screening purposes last week which was "normal".
I guess my question is, why would my sample have shown "infection" if nothing is wrong.Originally, at my appt my md gave me info about Irritable Bowel Syndrome and it does seem like these are some of my symptoms, but I am not convinced, it doesn't seem to matter what I eat. It is really getting to me and making me feel like a hypochondriac. Is it normal to always have an upset stomach???? and now this past week, I've had a painful almond size lump in my pelvic area on the right side/feels like it's over a bony area, feel like my doc is gonna think I'm crazy!!!
