Stomach cramps from old oysters

My friend is suffering from stomach cramps and dizziness, after eating raw oysters from the shell last night. The oysters were old – kept in the fridge for a couple of months. But they were commercially raised (Malpeque PEI) and purchased at a reputable retailer, ruling out PSP.

Medical history: My friend has had peptic ulcer surgery (Vagotomy and Pyloroplasty).

Should he go to the hospital?
Or, is there some off the shelf medicine he can take?

  • No, get him to the hospital. he may have to get his stomach pumped due to food poisoning! Please don't eat old sea food no matter what.
