  • Can you give us more info? What are his symptoms, where have you taken him, where do you live, what tests have been done etc?

  • Has he been tested for Autism? Did his symptoms begin shortly after recieving a vaccine? My sisters youngest child did not speak until he was 4 years old. When he did begin speaking, it was like he always had spoken. Does he seem to be ok otherwise? Does he respond appropriately? Has his hearing been checked? What tests has he had done, and what, if any are the options that have been ruled out?Wishing you well....mommy cat

  • I'm the special education teacher/director in the group. By Federal law, your local school district is required to do "Child Find". Go to you local public school administration office and tell them about your child. They must, as required by law, provide a comprehensive evaluation, which will include a speech and language evaluation, a psychological evaluation and an Occupational Therapy evaluation if warranted. All of it must be addressed within one month in the state of Arizona (I don't know what state you are in), and all evaluations must be completed within sixty days of signing the "permission to evaluate". The local school district must then provide speech and language services or a special education pre-school class for you child. This is all Federal law. If they give you any trouble, report them to your state department of education. I also tell all of my parents to become familiar with everything at: www.wrightslaw.com:D :D
