Ok, Im a 31 female with chronic pain in mostly my legs. No one has been able to figure this one out yet. Ive done some research so my history may be too indepth, but here goes...

I have had chronic leg pain for over 3 yrs now, bruising type pain with out any bruises seen. Also some numbness, tingling, needle like pain. It hurts just to rub my legs. The pain is always there but at times it intensifies to the point that I have trouble walking.

Other porblems in my body include history of UTI's and freq. need to urinate, involuntary bowel problems at times, pain at times in my arms, back and shoulders.

I have had several blood tests with all normal results...no thyroid, chol, diab, STD's. EMG and Lower lumbar MRI was normal. One suggests Fibromyalgia, another thinks possible MS, and the Internal dr said it was nonspecific neuropathy and that nobody would ever be able to exactly diagnose me.

Please help if your up to the challenge.

I have seen my fly doctor, massage therapist, chiropractor, neurologist, and internal med dr. and none of them can figure out what is wrong.

  • This sounds too much like my story. Ms, Fibro and much more are tied to Lyme disease and other tick infections. Dr's don't always test for it, esp if its not suppost to be around your area. Test aren't 100% accurate and part of the dx is clinical. You will find a lot of info and help here www.lymenet.org. Best wishes, hope you can feel better soon.

  • So you need to have someone look at it way differently than has been going on. I suggest (and I am a chiro who does many different types of natural health care) to access one of accuann's posts that lists a source to find a Doctor of Oriental Medicine in your area.

  • try magnesium malate...source naturals has a good product - take 6 capsules a day as directed. It's a long shot but mag deficiencies can cause the symptoms you're describing. The malate type of mag is supposed to be esp helpful with eliminating aluminum toxicity and fibromyalgia type pain. Please let me know if this helps. It also works very well if you have any restless leg type symptoms.

  • Hi,I'm not sure if this will help but my daughter is 19 and has experienced all of what you have and a whole lot more for about the past 2 yrs. That's actually why I'm checking here because of all she has goin on. One of the things she has recently been diagnosed with is interstitial cystitis. Here is a site that can give you alot more info on it.http://icadvice.com/node/244Please read all the way through as some of your symptoms are not referred to until further down the page. I really hope you are able to find answers to your health problems. It is so frustrating to not know what is going on and have everyone feel like your making things worse than they are. My daughter is met by skepticism from almost every DR she has seen because "she's far to young to have so many problems" according to them. Please let me know how you make out.:)

My last 2 weeks have had intense pain every morning lasting till about 2 pm then eases up some but never goes away ....pain rates 8-10 in am.s and after pain gets better it is still about 5...Please pray for me to get a good report next week...

  • Ms, Fibro and much more are tied to Lyme disease and other tick infections. Lyme is known for one sided and mirgating pains/symptoms. Did the dr do a western blot test for Lyme??? Magnasium supplements may help with some of the pain . Test aren't 100% accurate and part of the dx is clinical.7 yrs is a long time to be suffereing with no dx, but it happens to many people. Lots of info and help at www.lymenet.org.

  • Have your doctor check for another thing while you're up for more test. Check for MS (Multiple Sclerosis). My girlfriend had similar symptoms but the earlier you catch it the better for you in order to stop it where it's at. Good Luck and hopefully it's a job for the chiropractor

  • ok MS has been officially ruled out but MRI/MRA of my neck shows a 50% blockage of my LT common carotid artery and Im only 31. The neuro dr. said he will get w/ my fly dr and I should hear something next week...My question now is .....Could this be related to my leg problemPS Dr.s have told me that I live to far south to consider Lymes Dz. I live in south Louisiana 20 min from the gulf.

  • you said you had a lumbar MRI done but how about your sacrum or coccyx... has anyone examined or obtained imaging of them? another thing that is commonly missed and could possibly be causing some of your trouble is your sacro-iliac joint(s)... you can actually dislocate them and because they are kind of an odd type of joint, you still can be very functional but in severe pain.

  • Hi, You say you have been undx'd for 3 yrs, could be cause you have never been tested for Lyme and coinfections, because of where you live. You realize you have been having problems with pain for 7 yrs. Sorry to disagree with your dr, Lyme is in Southern La, theres a lady on lymenet.org from there, she and several others feel they got it after Katrina hit there. Look for posts from Geneal, at lymenet .org. It is a possibility in all the states, just not being dx'd, by dr's who'd rather think "its not in our state". Misquitos also carry the bacteria. MAny cases of Ms are misdiagnosed Lyme, cause the symptoms are identical. There are other coinfections, that go along with Lyme, babesia, barrtonella and more.. Ask the RA to do a western blot test.Ra has a better chance of finding out. Do some searches on it, its not an east coast exculsive any more. Good luck to you.

  • Its me again....LYMES??? I checked out the web site a couple wks ago after the 1st time someone suggested lymes...and dont think I hav that because with lymes dz, there is a spot or mark somewhere...I have sensations of bruising, and swelling but no seen signs...I did ask my fly dr about lymes...just cause I feel they are shooting in the dark so why shouldnt I add a few new options....any way my dr agreed and then dismissed lymes...
