I posted last year with some recurring symptoms which were getting increasingly worse.

Day -to day they wre sickness, fatigue, dizziness - the kind of thing the doctors tend not to worry about. I was also getting sudden attacks of urticaria, one of which caused me to pass out dues to low blood pressure.

Anyway last Novemeber I woke up one morning with with excrutiating pain in my abdomen. I was rushed to hospital where the said my liver function tests were very abnormal. First they thought it was gallstones, which scans showed it wasnt.

I ended up with 5 emergency admissions between november and january with the same symptoms.

During this year I have had multiple tests including, ercp scans, endoscopies, colonoscopys, multiple blood, stool and urine samples, hida scan etc...Nothing has shown on any of these.

During this time I have had worsening symptoms of nausea, diarrehea, fatigue on a daily basis. My urticaria attakcs, which are supposed to be being controlled by drugs, are increasing in severity. I have had all the patch tests and they are convinced this is not an allergy. I ended up at the accident and emergency again this morning after having a serious attack.

The doctors are lost and do not kow what to do next. Visits to A&E usually result in my symptoms being eleviated and then i get released.

Does anyone know of anything that could link all of these symptoms? I do not believe they are separate illnesses. If they are separate illnesses then I have got three illnesses and the doctors cannot name one of them - his is unlikley I feel.

Any thoughts or suggestions welcome - I am getting very depressed by this as it has gone on for a couple of years now. and my life is on hold.

  • do you run fevers? What test have you had? thanks for your response, i occasionally run a fever when I am having an attack(either urticaria or abdominal pain), although i would not say it is a prominent symptom. tests so far: liver biopsymultiple ultra sound, mri and ct scan of liver, bilary tree and pancreas. (these have been due to extremly high lft's)(liver slightly enlarged the first time).hida scan of gall bladderercp x 2colonoscopybone marrow biopsyallergy patch testsmutiple 24 hour urine collectionslarge variety of blood testsstoolsamples for parasites (due to foreign travel). Out of all of these all that comes up as abnormal is my lft's. these are generally higher than average but during and after an attack of abdominal pain they are sky high - so high that i was told in no uncertain terms that i should not leave the hospital until they come down.

  • Have any doctors tested for autoimmune conditions? Have you seen a rheumatologist?
