  • Are you taking any medications? Have any relieved your pain. Ibuprofen or a combination muscle relaxant/ibuprofen may be helpful. Do not take both together (too much ibuprofen can harm your liver). What kind of exercises have you tried? Gentle yoga may be helpful. Exercises that strengthen your core strength may also be helpful because back muscles need strengthening in order to properly support the spine (crunches, pilates, etc.)Are there times of the day where the pain is worse? better? Are you wearing decent supportive shoes? Check to see if you require orthotic inserts, you could try some Dr. Scholl's inserts from the pharmacy. When was the last time your mattress was replaced? It may be time to upgrade. Have you tried placing a pillow or rolled up towel under your lower legs when you sleep at night?Do you have a local swimming pool with a hot tub to try?
