Hi, My name is James and my problem is I have this thing where I am constantly fighting off this feeling of intense staring into space. If I allow myself I can easily slip into this trance where my eyes just lock and my mind goes all fuzzy/cloudy and people think I am stoned or something but i don't do any drugs or anything. I had a blood test and it showed I was low on vitamin D but have been taking 1000IU tablets once a day for nearly a month and hasn't helped yet.(but have not been re tested yet) I also had a sleep study but only found out I may have insomnia cause hard to get to sleep sometimes but even when I get good sleep several days in a row it's still there. I am not depressed but I do have issues with anxiety but meditation has greatly reduced this. even though I have this thing I can still do things normally but the condition is always co existing with me day to day and effects my confidence greatly cause mainly effects my ability to engage in conversations and also remembering things I have just read is a problem. No doctor has really had an idea of what I am on about and It's just such a weird thing to have. So now I am just reaching out to see if anyone out there has a problem like this?? I appreciate your time to read this and hope for positive information soon.
Thank you all.
James

My 10 year old son has started having these staring episodes about a year and a half ago after a fall that he had. lasting about 20 seconds at a time, sometimes a couple of minutes. having so many in a day, 30,40,50 +, that it has affected his education, ability to concentrate and have normal conversations.. I took him to a eye doctor, his normal pediatrician with no success on getting a diagnosis. I googled his symtoms and came up with he may be having mini seizures. I took him to a neurologist and sure enough, he was having petit mal seizures. Look up ABSENCE SEIZURES and see if that may fit your symptoms. go to a neorologist. sounds like that is in your brain and not just you being spacy.they say these types of seizures are more common in children, but they can affect adults as well. hope this helps.
