:confused:I have had two heart attacks. Am on numerous pills but I have been getting this pulse in my chest then a sharp pain through to my back. Between my shoulder blades. No doctor seems to know what its from. I have only been having them since my attacks and they are getting more frequent. Hopefully someone out there can tell me what its from. I had 15 of them just laying in bed watching tele last night, one of them was really painful. They don't last a long time, but they do hurt at times.

  • Hi Sarabear, I'm so sorry for what you are going through; I know how you feel, I have a condition that the doctors have put me through the ringer trying to find too, and to date, nobody knows what it is, so I completely understand your frustration; for details, please read my thread "Please help me, the doctors think I'm lying or crazy." I've being going through this for 8 yrs., and every day it's just hard because like you, I know something is going on, but nothing is ever found...and I know how hard it is not to give up because you think that nobody believes you, or they look at you like your'e nuts; believe me, I've had doctors look at me like that countless times after I told them what was going on, and all the tests came back normal, and, after a while you start to believe that they're right; I know I have, but then it's in your body, and not in your head, so you have to keep fighting, no matter how long it takes, to find out what it is, and fix it. I know how aggravating it is, and I'm sure you get depressed about it, I do sometimes, and it's ok to feel down, and upset; we wouldn't be human if we didn't, but you have to keep trying to find out why you are going through this, just like I have to, and yeah, I don't want to deal with it anymore, but it's not going to go away by itself either, so I have to keep going too. If you don't mind me asking, how old were you when you had your heart attacks, and the pains in your back? Don't worry, we will find a answer and get our lives back; we will get through it. Take care, and I wish you all the best. Good luck.

  • :rolleyes:Hi Jamie h I agree with you, yeh they do look at you as if you are nuts. I am 53, had the attacks november last year. I too get really down sometimes. I also have thyroid problems, high blood pressure, hep c, which is in remission at the moment, fluid retention and a low immune system. When I had the angiogram done they told me I have small main arteries which make the blood flow slower. I have had systems of the flu for about 4 mths, so the doctor talked me into having the flu shot, which I did now I have broncitis. Last night I felt that sick that I was crying like a child out of frustration. I get so sick of being sick. I have put on weight as I can't exercise because when I do I can't breathe and my legs just won't let me, its like they have no muscles. Do you have the same symtoms. If so what tests have they given you?.

  • Hello, you can call me Jamie. What is a angiogram? No, I don't have the same symptoms, but my situation is as complex as yours, how ironic huh? I got the flu shot in October, and I had the flu in January and March, and now I'm also dealing with bronchitis that I caught from another person for 2 weeks so far, and it's not going away because my immune system is also low because of my health problems...which no doctor thinks I have either since every test comes back normal. I can't believe youv'e had two heart attacks already at 53, that's unbelieveable, but that's good that the hepatitis is under control. Is your high blood pressure, and your thyriod condition under control too? I know a family friend who also has fluid retention, and she has such a hard time walking because it's all in her legs, I guess she's had it for years and uses a machine to move all the fluid around her body. It's ok, sometimes thats the only way to get your frustrations out; I've cried plenty of times about my problems, too and I'm 25; so even though we're grown, I guess we can be like kids once in a while. :D Believe me, I get tired of being sick too, and I hear you about the weight gain...I have some pounds to lose myself, so don't feel bad. That's too bad that you can no longer exercise because of your health problems, I hope they find out what's going on soon. I've had about 30 CT scans and MRIs, 9-10 pelvic ultrasounds, about 5 cystoscopies, countless blood and urine tests, 2 urodynamic studies, and 1 transvaginal ultrasound...all normal except a high testosterone level, and a couple of big cysts on my kidney and spleen.

  • Hi Jamie. My name is Rhonda. An angiogram is where they put a scope in your groan that goes to your heart and checks for any blood clots anywhere. Makes ya wonder what is the matter eh, when they can't find anything. When I was sick with the hep c I was seeing this doctor, had all tests known to man and he found nothing. Went to another doctor and she did one blood test and found it. Thats when I had the interferon treatment. So u know I got it from a blood transfusion not drugs.:) I am on coversyl for my blood pressure, which is up and down all the time. My thyroid is the same, but I live with it with the meds. My hubby says its like living with a different woman every now and then with the mood swings, menapause doesn't help either.:):)I hope they find out whats wrong with u b4 it gets any worse. Have they done blood tests of LFT's and thyroid. Its amazing what that thyroid does to ya body. Have u tried changing doctors, thats what I am in the process of doing. My doctor seems very complacent now with me, when I go to him its "what perscription would u like", so its a change for me. I was told once u should change doctors after every 4 years. What are they going to do about the cysts??Hear from u soon, have a good day.Rhonda

Actually i have heard her complain about some of the doctors being clueless at times, they only see patients for a few mins, the nurses are dealing with them & see more of what is happening. Heart attacks & heart problems can present in the strangest ways, like pains in ur shoulder, pains in ur stomach, & arms even headaches, some people even have silent heart attacks/problems. Actually she would give off to me now, she would say "mom this person needs to see a doctor & get seen too" not talk to us......the medical profession dont like this.....lol It may be angina, u need to see a heart specialist & have further tests done....or maybe u need ur medication to be looked at ! Regards :) I hope u feel better soon !

That test sounds very painful, I hope they knocked you out before they did it-I wish they had me out for my cystoscopies, but no, I had to be awake...I hate those tests, they hurt so bad. Yes it does, it's like we have nothing better to do than to make up all these problems...yeah right. That's a shame that that doctor did all of that to you, and didn't find anything, but I'm glad you went to another doctor and she found it, too bad you had to get a disease from the treatment though. I'm not familiar with that medicine, but your blood pressure and thyroid sounds like my weight; up and down all the time. Oh, that poor guy, I know what you mean about the mood swings; my mom is starting to go though that too, and her mood swings were TERRIBLE! But, now she's on medication that has really helped her, so she's calmed down quite a bit...sometimes she'll get grouchy, but that's once in a while. Thank you, I hope they do too; I've had problems since I was 17, and I just wish they would find something so I don't have to keep going through it. I've had all kinds of tests done, but I don't know if they checked those or not, I had so many tests that I can't remember what they checked. Yes, I've gone to at least 10 doctors...and nobody found anything. Good luck with your new doctor; maybe this one can help you. He asks you what you'd like to have? Wow, that is different; I wouldn't know how to act either. I never heard that, but over the years I've gotten pretty good at reading people, and whenever I felt like one wasn't taking me seriously, I'd go elsewhere, but usually they would give up on me and send me to another doctor after all their tests came back normal and the medicines didn't work long before I gave up on them. I don't know what they're going to do about my cysts, as far as I know, I guess it's not really a big deal because nobody seems too worried about them, except for my primary doctor, she seems concerned, but I haven't been told anything, so I guess I have to wait for them to decide what they're going to do.
