Speech problems, word ordering

I have a problem that effects me if I don't concentrate on a sentence that I want to say. If I just think of something then say it, quite often I will switch words around in the sentence.

example.

I really hate having to go to work.

would come out

I really having hate to go to work
or
I really hate having to work go to

and any other combination of words switched around.

I can stop myself from doing this if I think of an entire sentence I want to speak, then slowly say it, but if I just talk normally, this happens. Now, I don't remember having this problem when I was younger, it has only been the last 8 years or so, but its getting worse as time goes on, happening more frequently that is. I have talked to a few doctors and none of them really had anything to offer me, they all asked if I had development problems growing up, which I didn't.

Does anyone know of this, seen it before, know where to point me to find more information?

Thanks
Ken.

  • Yes, it's called "Aphasia".http://www.answers.com/topic/aphasia?cat=health You should have been receiving speech services while you were at school. If you have not graduated from high school, please request a speech evaluation. On the medical end, I imagine you should see a neuroligist to determine if there is something that he needs to take care of.
