  • Hello,How long have you had these symptoms? Are they new? Do you have any co-morbidities for stroke or have you had a brain injury?

  • As long as i can remember i have been having problems with my speech, and i cant think of an incident of brain injury or that sort. Should i be checking that? Also, i have taken therapy and have been on medication for about 5 years for depression. Eventhough, I feel my primary cause for depression can be speech difficulty.

  • I have the same problem. A lot of the time, all the words I'm trying to say will just blend into a slurred "jhzzz" sound. And people can NEVER hear me. Speaking any louder than my comfortable volume feels like I'm yelling and I find it even harder to not stutter or slur my words.I've had no luck with any kind of treatment... but I hope you find some.

  • Sounds like you should have had speech therapy when you were in school. Too bad your schooling did not include that. For now, if you have insurance, you can see if they will pay for a speech therpist to give you an evaluation and pay for her/his services. Good luck..
