For the last couple years I have had recurring throat and chest infections (about 4 or 5 a year) and lately they are accompanied with a sore/stiff neck (immediately following the first sign of sore throat) that shoots down into my upper back. My chest feels heavy and I feel some pain when breathing deep. No fever, no skin rash. I have been tested for strep, mono, lupus. all negative. Chest x ray normal. CBC blood tests all normal. Only thing that came back positive was inflamation in the A.N.A test (lupus). I have also recently had protein in my urine and a urinary tract infection. Dr. says the symptoms are strange and not sure of underlying cause. Wants me to see an ENT or possibly a gastro (sp?) specialist. What could this be??? The research I've done points to possible adenovirus....
