I am desperately trying to find out the cause and hopefully, cure for my condition and hope someone can help. For over a year now, I have been suffering chest infection-like symptoms every other week, but do not cough up anything. My chest becomes sore and I get a fever and feal unwell. I have had asthma and used to take a preventative inhaler, but stopped using it when it seemed to make my symptoms worse. I have seen my doctor on many occasions and was prescribed ampicillin but this had no effect, leading me to believe this is not an infection. I now have these symptoms all the time and have not been able to work for 2 months. With the fever and raw chest it feels just like a chest infection, but surely not for this length of time?? After a weeks rest the condition will slowly improve until I feel well for a few days, but almost immediately I will develop the full blown symptoms again and be ill again for another week or so.
I would be very grateful for any advice with my problem.
