I am a 17 year old male and I am pretty healthy. I have had this condition for as long as I can remember. My syptoms are brief muscle contractions that involve one side of my body at a time or both sides. They are all the way from my toes to my face. The contractions are induced usually by quick sudden movements and the muscles contract for 5-10 seconds. It happens about 5-10 times a day but some days its worse and some its better.I can also relax my body and try to percieve some weird sensation and the contractions happen then too. If i stay active that helps very much because its usually when i sit for awhile and get up or do something very fast. after i have the contractions i wont have another one usually for atleast an hour but sometimes on bad days it can happen.

Good luckYes me and my parents planned to but we don't have time for like another month so I'm trying to figure out what it is myself for now. It's not getting worse or anything but I fear it may be prety serious. Anyways they are just hard contractions and not twitchy or anything and they have no mental efect but do affect my speech.

  • Don't try to diagnose yourself, you will go absolutely crazy. I suggest reading some articles from this site pertaining to causes of muscle contractions. You will find them very informative. Please let us know how everything turns out. I will read up on this topic as well and if I find anything that might be related to your symptoms I will let you know. Good luck

  • There are doctors on this site that you can explain your symptoms to and they may be able to give you the best advice on what might be going on with your body. They may also recommend the proper specialist to see in regards to your symptoms. It doesn't cost very much and it may give you and your parents a peace of mind until you are able to see a doctor of your own. Please keep me up to date. Good luck

  • I have to see my neurologist within the next week or two and I will ask him about it. I am very concerned. This is not something that you should take lightly. I will also do some research of my own and get back to you with what I find. Hang in there

  • Thank you for the concern it has been on my mind lately. I just need to know I should have gone a long time ago but I am just used to it lol I will be glad if it can be cured or at least stay the same It would be really sad if it was a progressive thing.
