Alright, two or three weeks I wrote about problems that I thought was endocrine involved but... now have just gotten EXTREMELY weird.

for one week I ate 3 meals, threw up two and diarrhead the last. Got a CT scan (edit: of my abdomen) today showed some "abnormality" . Seeing GI doc today.

Last 5 hours: Hadn't eaten for 2 days. EXTREME thirst. Drank about 2 gallons of water. 4 total brown diarrheas, completely liquid, on the second (??? obstruction???) there was a small piece of stool. 1 more diarrhea that was totally clear, 4 more diarrheas that were yellow. Peed about 6 times

Severe Acid reflux, that I can even feel in my stomach without food for 2 days as well. Not to mention it came back after the clear diarrhea. Makes no sense whatsoever! My doctor's gonna think I'm crazy.

Oddly, chronic illness symptoms ongoing for 3 years seem to be going away?!?!?! Slowly, though. I'm even getting feeling in areas that were numb!

The only blood test result from a week earlier that was off was a mildly high alkaline phosphate (only 126 I think)
The only concern I have isthat I know rapid intake of water (I've had about 2 gallons so far) can cause problems.. but I seem to be not even absorbing 90% of it... and I'm feeling better anyways.

The weirdest part of all? The more I drink, the thirstier I get, and the better I feel. oh and also, the acid reflux (although excrutiatingly strongly) only occurs if I stop drinking water. The diarrhea and thirst only occur if I do not sit completely still.

My completely uneducated guess is some sort of toxic overload or allergen caused by the possible obstruction I may or may not have, somehow screwing my cardiovascular system.

Feel free to take a stab at this crazy one yourself!

  • I don't even qualify as a quack (;)) to take this with a teaspoon of salt. Anyway. Was the excessive drinking a one-time thing, or is it more or less constant?I'm guessing blood sodium/glucose etc were checked. The understanding I have is that if you feel the need to drink loads, the body is trying to get rid of something (excessive glucose in diabetes mellitus (aka simply "diabetes"), for example).

  • yes glucose was checked, as was everything else in the "comprehensive metabolic Panel" Excessive drinking was just a one time thing, yeah. However, increased thirst after drinking (we're talking water not booze :P) following mild exercise has not, I've had that for about a month. Also, I was generally too tired too move out of bed, which stopped when I started vomiting all my food.

  • eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek. I gotta ask about aspartame poisoning... I thought soda couldn't cause problems, so I drank about 6 cans of diet soda a day for a while.

  • Okay so incidently it is now 48 hours without aspartame (specifically diet coke) and all the numbness I've had for years is suddenly gone. Wow. I'm impressed that I've grown from utterly detesting to becoming addicted to something I may have an allergy too! Also, a strange coincidence, is that the near 20 bouts of diarrhea stopped after drinking REGULAR soda, somethng that occurs in people going cold turkey from diet coke. Low blood sugar from lack of food for days? or caffeeine addiction? Whatever the case I'm very glad that stopped. Of course, this is probably me just panicking that I have some odd disease again... but for once after 3 years my smptoms are going away, so I'll just hope for now.

  • yeah, I've read both sides of that argument on a couple websites, its hard to say who's right. Both the pro and con sides of the aspartame dispute seem to be rather immature, using straw men arguments rather than discussing each other's data (internet debates are so stupid lol, do people always assume the readers are too thick to interpret data?), so I'm not sure what to think. However, I, specifically, seem to have a problem with it. Almost all my numbness is gone; although, the vomiting and water diarrhea only go away when drinking non-diet soda. Yet, these are not symptoms of caffeine withdrawal, which are supposed to be mild (migraines, etc). Specifically weird is that the strange acid reflux with no eating is the OPPOSITE of what happens with caffeine withdrawl and caffeine is helping that ease up!!! I can only assume that the lack of caffeine is amplifying the withdrawal of aspartame or whatever is going on.

  • Well it's now 60 hours or so without diet coke. Extreme thirst for water and drinking of water (3 gallons a day) has been present for all three days, and "dry vomit" (it sometimes would not even make it out) would sometimes occur unless I drank 2 glasses of water. No diarrhea till the third day. Numbness present for 3 years is still receding (reverse numbing in places you can't remember feeling is very weird o.O like your legs seem to be falling asleep for no reason and then they feel odd, until you realize oh wow I'm feeling the CHAIR), I'm starting to get mucus from my nose which I haven't had in three years, migraines are gone (also 3 years), I'm starting to have sweat from skin which I could not sweat for 3 years either. It took me a while to figure out (yeah I'm stupid) but I'm severely dehydrated. I was confused because I was throwing up water and diarrheaing water and peeing clear at first, but I guess that was my body being severely whacked up. I'm definately allergic to aspartame or a breakdown product of it. I also read "the bressler report" which showed the FDA blacking out tables in a report (about adverse effects of a breakdown product of aspartame in current "safe" dosages) received via the freedom of information act! So it might not just be me! If you are drinking 3-6 cans of diet soda a day and have similar symptoms STOP NOW. Edit: and replace your source of caffeine for a while. Strangely, I am also no longer addicted to caffeine after 3 days.

  • Please read my previous posts about NAET, Water intake, Pancreatitis- Oriental Medicine.Water is needed when there is inflammation. Perhaps the water you are drinking have something that makes you react some more- so it looks a bit counter productive- but water really is a relief. You probably have chronic pancreatitis and liver problems, hence your body is not processing.Hang in there- try not to eat processed foods, too much processed salt, sugar, preservative, flour, breads. Eat less animal protein and less cheese, milk...Try to get to a doctor of Oriental Medicine ASAP...it only took me 15 minutes and 6 acupuncture needles and the symptoms you are experiencing went away. You might have bugs...maybe you'll need some Oregano oil, also look into Omega 3, 6, 9 supplements, black currant oil, primrose oil, fish liver oil (Carlson's)...you'll need them.Sorry about your pains...You are not alone. Many are suffering just like you.ps: try filtered or destilled water- see if it makes a difference.BestFruity.
