 Not sure I can go on much longer. I have lost everything (I have a bed and a table left). I have Hypothyroidism, Severe Hypersomnia (narcolepsy),Diabetes type 2,Fibromyalgia, Raynauds and am on 90mgs of Adderall and can still fall asleep and no one can wake me, diabetes is diet controlled but out of the blue, my blood sugar drops to 60 (usually high).
I can't remember anything. My legs, neck, spine are in great pain. My hair is really falling out. My doctors say all of my conditions are under control.
I don't abuse my medications or alcohol. My family thinks I'm on drugs or just do not want to work. I am very naucious (sp?) and get dizzy easily. I used to be an athelet and have a great career. Please help me. Oh yeah, I bruise really easily and I am very clumsy now. I'm 42, single and a real catch (ha, ha).:D I'm not depressed either(although I'm on meds for that. Hard to get off of because I'm irritable because of the pain and even a shower is a major effort.

  • I don't really know what any of these can be caused from. I am surprised however that with you being on 90mg of Adderall that you are able to fall asleep easily. I am on 40mg and there are many days that I find it hard to fall asleep.Do your drs know of all of these symptoms and problems? If they do and are not doing anything for you then I would be finding a new dr. You should not have to suffer and live your life like this. In the meanwhile google your symptoms and see if you can come up with anything. On a side note, you do seem like a funny guy. As I was reading your post I could tell that you do have a good attitude. I wish you all the luck!

  • Thank you for your reply! I agree, it's time I sent my dr a pink slip (heck, I got two last year, it's her turn:p )! I did find a solution for the hair loss (I'm a girl so it really sucks), I'm going for extra large breast implants! You won't hear me saying, "Hey, my eyes are up here! :D I'll start googling. The sleep disorder has been confirmed several times. Something is not allowing the adderall to work (five dexadrine a day didn't either). I only lost five pounds too. I barely eat. I'm not overweight but I'm 10 lbs heavier still, than I was before I couldn't quit sleeping. I really appreciate your response. It is nice to know people read these things.

  • This is a long shot, but get checked for insulin resistance syndrome (IRS), also known as Syndrome X. IRS leads to diabetes.I know you're a diabetic, but have they done an insulin reading by means of a GTT? I can't get much info on diabetics and IRS.I have normal glucose but never normal insulin, the two seem to be unrelated. I was told not to worry about IRS, yeah, right!!!!! I did some research and it is connected to about every serious condition known. It interfers with growth hormone and insulin like growth factor-1, and deficiency in these hormones can be catistrophic. An insulin tolerance test (ITT) is even better, measuring GH, cortisol, insulin and glucose. I feel diabetics have other health issues that are overlooked because of the diabetes. Most doctors are totally unaware of IRS and/or its affects.http://forums.wrongdiagnosis.com/showthread.php?t=5611 This is a long thread I have just posted to to this site in reply to someone else, it gives info on IRS and other things that may be of interest to you or helpful.Agape,Searchingsam

  • I'm so sorry you are having such difficulty. I too feel like I'm sleeping my life away. I've just recently seen an endocrinologist after having been hospitalized for a week and being discharged without a diagnosis...that was frustrating! But the endo has diagnosed me with Addisons Disease; its when your adrenal glands shut down and stop producing hormones that are critical for life. The reason I bring it up is that I have learned about a couple of diseases that are termed polyendocrine syndromes; basically they are a grouping of problems that are related to the endocrine system, and one of the group of diseases is diabetes. I'm wondering if maybe you have other endocrine problems (thyroid, adrenal problems, pituitary problems) that your doctor is overlooking becase they are saying, "oh, she has diabetes, and thats all," when in reality you might have something ELSE going on in addition. Doctors sometimes aren't willing to admit that a patient might have TWO problems, not just one. I think you need to get really aggressive about having your doctor test for additional endocrine problems. I've been inspired by a program on the discovery health channel, called "Mystery Diagnosis." Basically it is a series that shows all sorts of people who have been misdiagnosed or underdiagnosed for many reasons. But the common thread is that the patient just kept pushing and pushing until somebody finally listened. The challenge is that for those of us that are so sick we can barely get out of bed, pushing that hard is monumentally taxing. I will be thinking of you and sending lots of extra energy your way. IT IS NOT ALL IN YOUR HEAD, I BELIEVE YOU ARE NOT LAZY. You are sick and your family and friends are WRONG. Please believe in yourself!Good luck and take good care of yourself.Lisa

  • I haven't been able to respond, sleeping again! 30mgs of adderall and one Provigil and I still couldn't wake up.16 hours of sleep and could go right back.I'll take any ideas anyone has. I can't think to research anymore and I go to the doctor with my mother this week(who thinks it is a mental problem because I have 'changed so much'). It is very scary and upsetting.I'm afraid I'll end up in a mental hospital. I went to a really great university and had a 6 figure career(I hated), now I price shop at the dollar store, really! (big lesson, it's not what you make, it's what you keep. Do something you love and you will have all the 'wealth' you could ever wish for)Thank you for your help!
