My symptoms started with hair loss 4 yrs ago. The doctors and dermatologist wouldn't listen to me that it was more than the normal amount and told me it was from having kids or nursing. I started forgetting important things like pots on stove or what time to pick pick up my son which they said was stress. I believe they thought I was crazy and they sent me to some counselor to talk to.

We moved off that military base last year but while we were still there I became pregnant with my 6th child and began getting quarter size white spots around my hip. I thought they were stretch marks and the doctors never questioned them during my exams. We moved to another state in my 7th month of pregnancy and the new doctor immediately asked about the spots and said they looked like what Michael Jackson had and to get them checked out if they didn't go away after the baby was born.

About 6 months after the baby was born I started getting tiny white spots on my hand, then between my upper legs, under my arm, one on my chest. My pcm just did the normal bloodwork like thyroid tests and other. I went to the dermatologist who said it was vitilago and I asked if there was a test to proove I hadthat like a skin scrape or something and they said no and sent me on my way with medicine that didn't work.
I went back to the pcm after researching online about autoimmune disorders. He did bloodwork for that and the only abnormal one was the ANA test. I have an appt in two weeks at an artritis clinic that he referred me to.I believe I have loss of feeling on parts of my back. It doesn't feel the same when I scratch certain areas. My knees were making popping noises today when I was doing squats for exercise. Yesterday when I was lifting weights, both upper arms make popping noises when I lift them out or up. It hurts the left arm bad when I straighten it with o without weights.\

I know these symptoms are because I have something that I believe was caused by something in the environment in our old military housing unit,. That's where my hair started falling out and after 1 1/2 yrs of going to doctors to find the reason, I bought a mold test and found we had been living with I don't know what kind of mold. They were made to cut our ceiling open, remove the mold and close it up -- all while we stayed in the house. My family still had breathing problems, hair loss so I bought another test and found our radon was so high they told us to leave that night until they put in a radon reduction system.

When we moved back in the house, the symptoms started again (In the hotel on base, the baby breathed quietly and had no runny nose. Our hair started to grow in the months we were there) I tried to find more tests for chemicals or environmental hazards that could be in the house but couldn't find any and the base didn't believe me that something was wrong.

Now we are out of there but I know some autoimmune disorders can be caused by something you are exposed to. My family history is healthy and so were we until we moved in old base housing.

If anybody has these symptoms or might know what this is, please write so I can ask the new doctor to test me for that.
