Sinus infection or something worse?

Ok for some time back (about 2 weeks, I think) I have been feeling really dizzy on the odd occasion, sort of like you do before you faint, but not quite.
I have also been experiencing a weird pressure at the front of my brain, in between my eye sockets.
It's so vague, but it's been causing me a lot of grief recently.
I have a slight cough, and mucus down the back of throat- although my nose is not apparently blocked.
I feel nauseous after eating, but have not thrown up due to it.
Other to that I have been generally sore- which could be unrelated and also very tired.
I have had a blood test recently (I was previously an iron deficient anemic) but my bloods are currently normal.
I have smoked Marijuana recently and am aware that that can cause problems with your health, however, I am pretty sure that the symptoms I'm experiencing are unrelated.
I have had unprotected sex recently also, but I have also had my period through the time I have been experiencing these symptoms, so I'm pretty sure I am not pregnant also.

I think I my have a sinus infection, but am not too sure, and I would love to hear others opinions of what I have before I go into the doctor again and she tells me its just a virus.

  • No nasal discharge at all? Can you cough up the phlegm easily or is it hard to expectorate? What is the color of the phlegm? When you bend over does your head and face hurt much worse? DOM

  • My nose is slightly blocked, but its all dry. The phlegm is hard to cough up and take a look at (lol I'll keep trying). And yes my head does seem to get a bit more dizzy the more I move it around- for example when I go shopping and the area is really busy (filled with many different items of interest) my head does begin to spin, and I feel that i need to sit down. This also happens when I look down suddenly, but only if I'm standing.

Please consider trying the following: Get Mucinex in the higher 1200 mg dosage and start taking two tablets daily - this will help thin the nasal secretions and can help your sinuses drain. Don't just take a decongestant - this can cause the sinuses to become dry and impacted and can make things much worse. You should notice it will be much easier to cough up the phlegm. There have been studies that sinusitis is actually fungal in nature. I have suffered from chronic sinusitis and recommend wild Oregano Oil at fairly high doses. Wild oregano oil is an excellent antifungal and antimicrobial herb. It is great stuff and the first thing I look to when I have sinus issues. Lastly, get a neti pot or Dr. Neil med's sinus rinse to help flush out the sinuses. This is very effective. If you try these things and are still not feeling better, or if you notice you have chest tightness or congestion, then see your doc and they will faithfully hand you a script for an antibiotic.;) Best wishesDOM

  • This could be sinusitis in your frontal sinus, which reqiers an ENT doctor, since it's closed to your brain. I don't men to scare you, but I think you should see a doctor. Best of luck!
